I recently hosted a client dinner at Barbacana with a party of 10 and they knocked it out of the park.
Chef Christian Hernandez put together a great experience. Every course was well done and the wine pairings were spot on and reasonably priced. It felt like a true culinary experience, not just a client dinner.
The service was equally impressive. The staff walked us through each course, explained the ingredients and pairings, and handled our larger group without missing a beat.
Chef Hernandez has clearly spent time in Michelin starred kitchens, and that experience shows.
It was a great evening for our team and our clients. We will definitely be back.

Very busy for Valentine's Day, as expected, but the food was absolutely stunning. The chef delivers an incredible menu — every dish was beautifully executed and full of flavor. It was truly an exceptional dining experience, and we will definitely be back. There was a small issue regarding the seating preferences noted in my reservation. Initially, we were told the request couldn't be accommodated, which was a bit disappointing. However, the host handled the situation very professionally and ultimately honored our original request by moving us to a quieter table. That thoughtful follow-up really made a difference and was greatly appreciated. The only real downside of the evening was the valet service. We arrived while it was pouring rain and there was no valet present to greet us, so I had to park the car myself temporarily and escort my significant other inside. The valet only moved the car about 20 minutes after we arrived. When we left, the interaction was not particularly pleasant, and we were charged $20 despite the lack of proper arrival service. For a restaurant of this caliber and price point, valet should either be more attentive and professional — or ideally included in the overall experience. Overall, the cuisine and the way the host ultimately took care of us were outstanding. With improved valet service, the experience would be flawless.

Absolutely delicious. Some of the best food in the city. It was so quiet on a Thursday as well. It almost seems like a hidden gem at this point. Had a small plate, tartare, and medium plate. It was 3 amazing courses. Can't wait for the next visit. Oh, the dessert was outstanding too.

If we were not leaving to return to Florida we would have returned to try the chef's Reservation menu. The desserts were so very much with the calories. Truly would give it 6 stars if we could.

My wife and I came here for lunch. We were warmly greeted and decided to sit at the tasting counter. My wife's chicken selection was excellent, very tender slices of chicken served over sticky rice. My selection of the mushroom preparation was just a tad overcooked. Although we did not have dessert, from the descriptions they all sounded very innovative and the tasty. We will certainly enjoy returning to the restaurant.

We celebrated New Year's Eve with a last minute dinner reservation at Barbacana, we reserved for 9 pm hoping to catch the fireworks downtown after dinner. We were surprised to learn that the reservation I made for our party of four was for the New Year's Eve party and not for dinning. The host could not have been more gracious in welcoming us for dinner and seating us at the kitchen window where we were front row to all the delicious meals being prepared. Despite the late hour and the fact that we were running up to their NYE party, we were not rushed and each of our meals was spectacular. The grace and hospitality together with the magnificent food won us over. We can't wait to come back and try all the other menu items. Well done Barbacana!!
My husband and I were visiting Houston over Thanksgiving weekend and looking for a place to eat that were in close proximity to a show that we were attending. Barbacana fit the bill, and we hit the jackpot! The wine list was impressive, the food was amazing and the service was impeccable! I highly recommend Barbacana for an amazing dining experience.
