Amazing experience at Black Walnut! What really stood out was Fredy’s kindness and attention to detail. He noticed I had a stain and immediately came out with a washcloth and some cleaning spray (maybe water) and helped clean it. The stain is still slightly there, but he made it so much lighter, and I truly appreciated the effort. That level of care means a lot. Thank you so much, Freddy! Great service and a great place overall.

Ms. Glendy took wonderful care of our party. The food was wonderful. We had a party of ppl with us and she did a magnificent job. The whole experience was great. Could've gave more mash potatoes with that chicken fried steak. Pork chops were great. Quesadillas were delicious. And with all the food we ordered the bill was so surprisingly good. I loved it. Definitely recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. Got champagne for only $15 good one too. Great place representing H-town. Whole great experience.

Very delicious. Came here as a plan B, because this restaurant is pretty okay-mid on a good day, but the shakshuka was firing on all cylinders this morning, and the breakfast sausage was superb.
Brunch, lunch, coffee meeting. Everything was delicious and quality. After a salad, shared a mini pecan pie 🤌✨️

Great atmosphere.
Good food.
Clean interior.
Friendly and attentive staff.
It’s a pay parking lot which is annoying. I think it’s $4 (or $5) for 2 hours.

The moment you walk in you feel like you are walking into your own family’s home for dinner. From the cashier who was welcoming and made suggestions, to the very attentive server (Glendy) who didn’t miss a beat with her friendly energy to last but not least, Cody the super nice manager that went to every table more than once to make sure you were well taken care of. I must say Black Walnut is always one of my favorite places to go for some good eating and friendly staff.

Great food, I ordered the blackened salmon blueberry salad. The cheese was delicious, very creamy and flavorful. The dressing had a decent taste , the salmon was cook to perfection. Very tender and tasteful. The sweet potato fries were crispy and tasted great. The service was even amazing, didn't have to wait too long and I went on a busy lunch time.

The concept of walking up to the counter to order and then proceeding to a table works well if you’ve been here before or have had time to review the menu. For first-timers, though, it creates an odd situation—do you take a menu to the table to figure out everyone’s order, then go back to the counter? And if a line has formed by then, are you expected to head to the back? That part of the process could be better.
Once we placed our order, the food took a little while to arrive. The Steak Frites, Pot Roast Dinner, and Coconut Shrimp Tacos were all decent—not over the top, but okay.
The vibe is open-concept, clean, and bright. During our visit, a large table of about twenty teens made the space a bit loud. Street parking is available, and it’s a nice area for a walk after dinner.
All in all, not terrible—just decent. Saluti

I had a great lunch with my elderly mom at BWC and she thoroughly enjoyed this delicious and huge breakfast platter for two days 😋. Our waitress, Evelyn provided exceptional service!
As for atmosphere, the seating is a bit tight given one seat is at the entrance thus blocking a wheelchair when a customer is at the table.

I stopped in for the Houston Restaurant Week special, and I must say, I was completely satisfied with the quality of the food and the service! The manager Glendy was very friendly and inviting! The New Orleans BBQ Shrimp that came with the special wasn't exactly how they do it in New Orleans, but it was really good. Also, the Lobster Pasta had huge chunks of lobster in it as well! I would definitely come back here again!
