Great place for brunch, highly recommend the blueberry lemon pancakes, the chicken fried steak and pork belly burger. Reasonable prices all around and amongst the brunch options in Houston is one of the best.

I’m a weekly patron. I will say I’ve been finding lots of long dark hairs in my Benedict orders. Aside from that, please bring back the Cheeseburger eggs Benedict with the bacon jam. I’d pay extra just please listen to the customers instead of the corporate executives (we spend the money).

The food at Black walnut is amazing dear Nashville hot chicken sandwich is off the charts with the coleslaw and french fries for brunch. I always love getting the mimosa flight with the pancakes and chicken sausage for a healthy option for people that don’t like work like me. I eat here at least once a week and their pumpkin pancakes when they’re in season are amazingly delicious.

The first time I came to the restaurant was on a door dash run. Nabil, the manager, treated me with such kindness that 2 years later, to this day, I remember that interaction. He runs an incredible place here and everyone seems to love him. Great people. Great atmosphere.

Eh, not a fan. We’ve always wanted to try the Black Walnut but just got around to it the other evening. First off, the ambiance and decor was not what we were expecting. We were thinking cozy/comfortable eatery, but its really a lot more of a “diner” designed around the 20-30 year old crowd that comes in for Sunday breakfast. You’d never know it from the exterior presentation.
Then the food……..just not good at all. Again expecting delicious hand made meals, but it was more a simple “cookie cutter” type meal. Nothing special, and just “ok”. Small portions and not much to compliment. Oh well. Guessing it may be a good breakfast place though.

Black Walnut is a 10 out of 10 that I definitely recommend and I’m recommending you to go sit in Sebastian section. He is amazing! He went above and beyond to ensure our food and drinks were everything! I had the blackened chicken wrap and my sister had the turkey burger which was bigger than both of our heads put together lol. I’ll be back for sure! Try the ruby red grapefruit Martin and you won’t be disappointed. Black walnut and Sebastian for the Win!!! Until next time! Tell them Dani sent you

We arrived at about 10:00. It wasn’t busy. We sat ourselves pretty much after the server told us we could sit anywhere. We ordered our food. It didn’t take long to get our orders. I ordered the chicken and waffles with an egg fried over easy. I wanted my yokes fried hard (I told the server that I didn’t like my eggs runny) but she didn’t know what I was talking about. But she was nice and professional. My companion really liked her order. I did too. However, I wish the chicken was seasoned more.
It was nice. It was quiet. I saw a lady with her two Golden Retrievers on the patio and I like that dogs are welcome in the patio. I may go back for lunch or dinner.

I have typically had a good experience at Black Walnut, however, today was unfortunately not one of those experiences. I came with my daughter for brunch and I ordered the chicken and waffle with over easy eggs, while she ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. The food came out and as we were eating, I found an orange plastic bread clip in the center of my waffle. I had only eaten one half of the waffle and half of the chicken at this point. I notified service and they took my plate away. My daughter continued to eat her meal while we waited. A handful of minutes went by and a staff member came to our table and asked if I would like a new order of the same meal, I said no because we needed to leave in 10 minutes to be somewhere and I didn’t have time for the meal to be prepared. I asked to please just bring my order of eggs back and I confirmed they were over easy. Another handful of minutes went by and a staff member brought a full order of chicken and waffles with scrambled eggs. Our server, Nick, was nearby and said that was incorrect and to bring me just the over easy eggs. We waited a few more minutes, but ultimately we had to leave due to time constraints.
As I mentioned at the beginning, I have had good experiences here, but the fact there was a plastic bread clip in the batter that was then cooked and served is very disappointing; not too mention I still had half of the chicken and waffle and all of the eggs remaining on my plate that were paid for, but not consumed.
