First time here and the entire experience was great! Met Mr. Bill who was very friendly and helpful and checked on us later which was very nice. Also have a friendly staff and kept checking on us to make sure everything was ok as well. The food was very tasty and amazing. In all it was a very great experience and highly recommend and will definitely return

I took a large group of elderly nonEnglish speaking cadults (and one special needs) to the Black Walnut. They were so good to us. Very patient with my folks trying out new language skills and accomodating us by seating us as a group. My folks are not used to English food but loved everything! Not a bite was left as far as I could see. They even had dessert. You should have seen their faces as they tried foods they didn't even know existed. Our server Pedro was the best too. He was friendly and patient with all of us. He made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal. I will definitely be back with other friends and hope to bring this group again.Parking: We brought a medium size bus and we were able to park onsite.

We came here around 1:30 pm for brunch on a Saturday. It wasn’t very busy at that time, so we were able to order quickly. I followed my friend’s lead and got the steak and eggs plate and a side of the Thai peanut Brussels sprouts. OMG.. Those Brussels sprouts were so flavorful and delicious. Make sure to toss them to get all the sauce from the bottom. They were a bit undercooked though. The center cut sirloin was yummy and pretty tender! It’s one of the best cafe steaks I’ve had. The plate came with 2 eggs your way, salsa and fried potatoes. The service was very attentive and friendly as well. Except for a lady at the front register that gave an attitude because we asked for a top for the salsa. All in all, Black Walnut Cafe is always a great place to eat.

The start with ordering at the counter was a little annoying. Person ordering in front of us took forever, several people standing around that maybe could have taken our order. Food was very good, we did the chicken bowl and shrimp Alfredo. For the price point they were excellent. Once we sat down service was great, especially considering we had already paid and didn't have a server. Will definitely be back.

I sadly can not give this quaint little cafe a rating above a 3 because the service was worse than I've experienced in a long time. Beyond slow service.The food was excellent once they got my order right. Another person in our party, who ordered first, got her food after the entire table of 6 were done eating. They brought her 3 other people's orders, none of which were from our party. The manager, or maybe even the owner, tried his best to correct the many problems with some of our parties' order, but it just didn't help much with the overall dining experience.I really think they need to rethink the "Order at the counter" service.On the plus side, my husband said that his salmon was probably the best he had in a long time.Because of the order at the counter method of service, not a single dessert was ordered. Had they had an actual server, once some of us were done with our meals, we may have had one of the desserts/ gelato's that looked really good. With no one to ask or encourage us with their sweet treats, we didn't bother going back up to the counter to order one.Someone in our party had eaten their during the week and said that they had a server, but upon asking, they said that they do not have them. They did have someone who brought the food to our table, but that didn't work because they kept bringing the wrong food, or the order was different from what we ordered.
