A delicious Ethiopian restaurant that is in the Upper Kirby neighborhood area. They have a dedicated parking lot and a ramp up to the front door. There are plenty of sitting and tables here. On Sunday, they have a special menu with a good mix of mix on the platter for a good price $114.99. We did request no Kitfo as we did not want to eat rare meat. I did have to flag down our server to refill our water. The restaurant feels like your in an old house but the building was recently built. They will give you all of injera you may need for your food.

This was easily the least flavorful Ethiopian food we’ve ever had. When the salad and sambusa ended up being the best parts of the meal, that says a lot. We came in excited and left genuinely disappointed. Overall, a very underwhelming and disappointing experience.

It was very delicious. The portions are large, we as 2 people had a lot of left overs with dish 40 (that has a little bit of everything). The injera is less fermented—and thus less tangy—than what I have tasted before, but still good. The mega coffee was very tasty and strong.
I will say to ask about the happy hour before you order because on the bottom of the menu it says that there’s $1.00 off all drinks between 5:30 and 7. But they did not honor that and said the happy hour does not apply. They ended up giving me a dollar back because they know it’s on the menu and not struck out, but please keep that in mind. The overall service was good too, albeit a little slow even when there were no other patrons.

Blue Nile, A real treasure for the city. The food we shared was delicious - beautiful platters of vegetables followed by lamb, chicken and shrimp. The meal was topped off with Ethiopian tea and coffee. I can’t say enough about the lovely and charming staff who took our experience to the next level!

My husband and I just moved to Houston and were craving Ethiopian food. Everything was so good! The cabbage was the best we’ve ever had!! We will need to bring our parents here when they come to visit.

The food had good flavor, but the portions were disappointing—especially the meat, which was very minimal. We also waited more than 45 minutes for the food, which felt a bit long as there were not much people, and top of that, the prices are quite high for what you actually get. Overall, decent taste, but not the best value for the money and very long wait.

I went here for lunch yesterday and had a wonderful time (as always). Mar is a phenomenal waitress and beautiful person inside and out. She made sure that two vegan foodies having a friend-girls' lunch were informed and felt at home. The vegetarian combination and veggie sambosa is delicious! I will definitely be going back many times over.

One of the most unique experiences I ever had dining at a restaurant. Blue Nile has been recognized as one of the top ethnic-authentic restaurants and also the best Ethiopian restaurant overall in the Houston area for numerous years. I decided to check it out and it lived up to the hype. Everything feels authentic and true to its roots. The decor, ambience, food, clothes of the waiters, etc. It was my first time eating Eastern African cuisine and it was great. I tried the lamb Dulet, an Ethiopian delicacy, and it was very delicious. While I didn’t have the other options, reading about them gave me the impression I would’ve also enjoyed them. This restaurant should definitely be in your bucket list if you ever find yourself in the Houston.
