We cannot say enough good things about Blue Tuba. The food is great (excellent schnitzel), the location and outdoor patio is lovely, and we love the owners (Ms Giga is so sweet). Very kid friendly. Best patio in the heights, upstairs. Occasional live music. They have gone above and beyond for our family and we love coming here.

Hidden Euro-Texan gem in The Heights! Food is delicious, atmosphere is great (the owner plays the piano, nightly happy hour at the bar), service is on point - attentive without being rushed, more European style. Great mix of Europe and Texas 🤠🇸🇰

Enjoyed a lovely lunch meeting here with the GHC Ladies in Action group. Blue Tuba was a fantastic venue for a group meeting! The food and service were wonderful and there was plenty of space for the ladies to network and present. Would love to return and take advantage of their patio!

Best European Restaurant in Houston Heights, maybe the best in Texas. Highly recommended. 💯

Oktoberfest at Blue Tuba was such a fun experience! The beer specials were excellent, and the food transported me back to the European flavors I’ve missed. I loved the festive atmosphere—it was definitely a unique way to celebrate in Houston Heights!

I was in the mood for German Food and sadly was disappointed. I'm born and raised in Germany and the only good thing was the German Beer on Tap. It's just another place in Houston claiming to serve German Food. I ordered the Hungarian Goulash which is a stable on Bavarian menus back home. Nothing better than a Hungarian Goulash soup on a cold day. There was no sauce it was very dry. The meat had a good flavor but was overcooked, not sure if I came on a bad day because some of the pictures I saw on line had at least a little sauce mine had none. They offer Currywurst yet they use Bratwurst that's not how we do it in Germany. We use Knockwurst for Currywurst, it's wrong to use Bratwurst!!!! Please change that on your menu, if you desire to be somewhat authentic. I will be back for more beer and I will taste the Schnitzel and your Wurst as well as Sauerkraut/ Blaukraut, hopefully I can write a more positive review. As of now I do not recommend to order the Goulash if you ever had Goulash in Germany you will be highly disappointed.

I had my birthday party here that was amazing. Played live music. The food especially the Wienerschnitzel is exceptional. The sauerkraut was wonderful and the Owner’s music is fantastic. Everybody needs to go to the Bluetooth tuba.

I’m German living in Houston and will say this was the best German/hungarian type food I’ve had in the U.S.

Excellent food-reminds me of my Russian brother in law’s cooking. The atmosphere is cute, too. It cutely embraces the Texas meets eastern Europe line. I like sitting by the windows and people watching on 19th.
I find myself craving the food and atmosphere here often. Recommend!

I didn’t realize how much I missed real European food until I had the Hungarian goulash and schnitzel here. Both dishes were full of flavor and felt super authentic. It’s rare to find a place that gets them both right — highly recommend.

Here right now and this place is amazing. They also were very kind and let me order even though close to kitchen closing. Everyone was really nice and the story of this place is cool. Amazing food such a cool menu especially since I’ve been missing Europe so much!
