Brenner’s on the Bayou is hands-down one of the best dining experiences in Houston. I had the filet cooked medium-rare — absolute perfection, tender and buttery, practically melts in your mouth. The mac and cheese? Off the charts. It’s so good it should honestly have its own name. The green beans were fresh and flavorful, and the mashed potatoes were ridiculously good. Our party of 6 was there to celebrate my mother in law's 80th birthday. We had a wonderful experience! The food, service, and ambiance were amazing. From Texas Kisses to beet salad and lobster bisque to steak and snapper to 3 incredible desserts, we were beyond satisfied. My MIL commented multiple times how this was the best birthday ever!

The ambiance and the view are worth the trip and the mandatory valet charge. The food was very good, but not excellent.
The steaks were doused in an au jus sauce that was not created with the same flavor as the steak but off some other beef broth. This threw off the flavor of the filet and diminished it's appeal.

The mashed potatoes were amazing. The risotto was HEAVILY flavored with Parmesan and I could not finish it although my wife loved it.
