Liked that you get your check off your own sandwich options on the bag when you get into the line. Somewhat limited options (although not really I guess-), the line moved quickly & the seating area is small. The trash was overflowing out of both trash cans inside the restaurant when you have to throw your trash away before you leave. So, I had to carefully add to the pile of trash that was building. Overall, I think it's great for a quick sandwich! It was my first time eating at a Brown Bag Deli.

I was pleasantly surprised with my sandwich! When I first arrived I thought this was just another sandwich spot and grabbed my usual. I swapped out the bread for the jalapeño cheddar. The bread was a little too sweet for me, but I still enjoyed it, the service was friendly and it was a cute quick lunch spot!

So this review is special for me because I was having a difficult day. My husband has some cognitive issues and that day it was hectic and the restaurant was packed so it was hard to deal with making sure he was OK and the order was right. So when we ordered our food I had to step back and check on my husband who had started to have a mild episode of feeling displaced. All this to say the guys there we able to take my order and allow me to sit him down and even when he ordered chips he couldn't eat because they were to spicy, he was given a substitute and I thought that was so great and it also allowed me to focus on him and not feel overwhelmed by his stress from the side he chose. The food was amazing and the staff were friendly and polite. Definitely recommend grabbing lunch here.

Very inconvenient driving to your location for 25 minutes but to be met with a sign saying your new hours are mon-sat. When driving on a Sunday there. Maybe update your hours online as well so other don’t get this inconvenienced.

Best sandwich in the H-Town! A must visit establishment
I'm working at our CB office today, in downtown Charleston. I stepped out of the office to have lunch at Brown Dog Deli. I had a salmon and fried green tomatoes wrap. It was delicious! The green tomatoes were fried perfectly and had a crunch to them.

This place genuinely surprised me! I was looking for a sandwich on gluten free bread and stumbled on this place. It was a perfect sandwich. I ordered Turkey, ham, bacon, avocado, lettuce and mayo on gluten free bread pressed/hot. Meat had great flavor. Bacon was real bacon and cooked well. Avocado was mashed up nicely and not chunky. Lettuce wasn't all wilted like many hot sandwiches. So yummy! And they carry my favorite gluten free chips: deep river.

I come to this place a lot. The brown bag on Amherst and Rice Village has above average service! Mark the manager, Sandra, NAmherstyala, and Julio are all the best. They greet you when you come in they make sure and do whatever they can assist. Myself and the other veteran that have lunch here always so pleased with their kindness. And the food is delicious too LOL Valerie

Sandwiches are incredible! So fresh and tasty and made to your liking. A quick in and out experience, but definitely a little bit pricey for a sandwich. Quality is worth it though! I will warn that they do put a LOT of sliced meat in the sandwich if you order that, so if you're not into that I'd recommend indicating a half portion of it. Please keep this place open!
