Bubba's Texas Burger Shack

Bubba’s Texas Burger Shack is hands down one of the best burger spots in Houston — and it also happens to be my wife’s favorite. Back when she was pregnant, this was her go-to place, and we still find ourselves coming back because it’s just that good.

What makes Bubba’s stand out is the quality. The burgers are made with fresh, flavorful ingredients, and every bite tastes like the kind of burger you hope for when you’re craving the real deal. It’s not just the food, though — the staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better.

Part of the charm is that Bubba’s is tucked away in a spot you might not expect, but once you find it, you’ll be glad you did. It has that hidden-gem feel while still delivering consistently excellent food.

If you’re looking for a really, really good burger — arguably one of the best in Houston — you’ve got to stop by Bubba’s Texas Burger Shack. It’s worth the trip every time.

This place is apparently a classic spot but there was nothing classic or special about their food. So many better burger spots in Houston than this. They dont serve fresh food. It is frozen food and terrible.

This was a solid burger! I definitely should have a single patty but if you want a monster burger, this is the spot. They are nice and juicy. Great flavor. Try the the zesty pickles. ~chef kiss~ They have a beer!!! The staff is really nice. I can’t wait to come back🖤

Had the bison burger, it was a little tough a little dry. Service was ok. Atmosphere was cool, it felt like chilling at a backyard thing but you're in the middle of everything. Everything is old school which is cool with me but if you're not a fan of things like an old soda machine you might want to avoid.

I probably would have never stopped at this place by the location and the look of it. It’s a small, older building located under the freeway. The great reviews made me find it. They only had bison burgers the day we visited. These were very good(not the normal frozen patties) and had the best fries! The only seating they have is large picnic tables outside under the porch. They should add smaller tables.

The nostalgia i had gotten from visiting for the first time after almost 25 years was wonderful. It was just as good as I remembered and the jalapeno potato salad was more delicious than I had expected

I’ve been wanting to try this place for years and today I was around the area and got me their delicious houston burger 10/10 the lady at the register was super nice and the ambience is great. Delicious burger and attentive staff.

The bison burgers were ok. A bit dry and not seasoned well. If I go back I will try the regular burger meat. Maybe that will taste better. But there are way too many burgers joints in Houston for me to rush back here.
It’s got the “classic dive” experience.
Dirty tables and a bathroom that would make you want to pee outside in the bushes instead of.
The employee taking my order was polite and the catered to my specific requests.

Unfortunately the quality of the food and service has gone down hill. The hot sauce used to be excellent, now it's just sour and thin. The patties are smaller and didnt taste good at all.

Staff was arguing when we arrived and seemed mad to have customers. I won't be returning.

This is definitely a hidden gem! They offer homemade beef and bison burgers. The flavor can be summed up with one word: amazing! The homemade chili has a definite kick but is delicious. It is the original owner's recipe. The staff definitely embodies southern hospitality. They have picnic style, covered seating. They offer local craft beers and sodas along with regular sodas. You will definitely not be disappointed!

A frozen patty. You can not shape a patty that perfect if it is not frozen. Probably US Food supplied. Tasteless patty with some type of sauce to mask the tasteless patty. Very disappointed!

The fries and customer service was good but the burger was not. It was cold and the inside was pink. I did not eat it, only ate the fries. Waste of money, gas and time.

I ate here probably 7 years ago. Unfortunately I did not have the same experience I had back then. I’m definitely giving more stars for service than I should. Items were left off our order promising a refund which was not received. I most likely will not be returning. Just disappointed in the service. Food was good overall.
