We moved to Montana from Ohio about three months ago. We came to Augusta to check out some places, nature and such.
We came across Buckhorn Bar. We decided to try it. Such great people working and tasty food! My husband and I both got a burger. Great size & tasty! We also got jojo’s, salad and the mozzarella sticks. So good!
We have a one year old son and the staff was so kind to him, giving him toys to play with, shredded cheese and one lady gave him a flower. Thanks for being so kind and welcoming 🫶🏼

Bring cash. I came in today with a credit card and when the bartender (older white lady) told me that there was a $10 minimum on credit cards, I told her to charge me for two (even though I was only planning on having one), and that I would make up the $3.50 difference with a tip. She said that I have to get 3 for the initial charge of $9.75, which is nonsensical because that's still not $10. So I left. I'm glad that I didn't let her open the beer that I ordered before we had had this conversation. I want to stress that this bartender was super-nice and professional throughout the entire interaction, and that I don't blame her for a clumsy application of a stupid rule. This place is okay. I just have to remember not to come in here without cash. I'd rather they be the way they are rather than going cash-free like a soulless wine bar (see The Grove Wine & Whiskey).

I came here because I was craving a beer and found out this place was previously named Buckhorn Lounge. In 1981, a woman was shot and killed here during an armed robbery. I believe the killers remain unidentified, and the case has since turned into a cold case (Capital Murder). It was pretty cool.

Great place, everyone is everyone's friend here. Laid back, friendly crowd and an inviting place. A two story, one time brothel a long, LONG TIME AGO. Story goes that a jealous wife tried to burn the place down with husband inside, but that was A LONG TIME AGO TOO. No fires anymore...
Kid-friendliness: During the day kids are welcome with a parent (no drinking for the kids though... Maybe an extra for parents at or close to the end of their rope, but NONE for the kids!) A great "dive bar".
