I am very disappointed with the service I received the last time I went to Burns Barbeque. I arrived in the 2 o'clock hour on Saturday August 30th. I was told the only meat they had was chicken and links. For this restaurant to have run out of meat by 2 o'clock on a Saturday is disrespectful to the their customers. This is not the first time I've gone to burns on a Saturday and they had run out of meat. The building needs refurbishing as well. The floor in the area where orders are taken is sinking, it's hot inside of that area, and it's time to enclose and provide ac to the dining area. Burns is a long standing black owned business in Houston. It used to have a reputation of serving great food at an affordable price with excellent customer service. Those attributes died with the original owners. Burns it's time to get it together. On that same Saturday I went to Triple Js on Homedtead. It was extremely crowded, they had everything available that a barbeque restaurant offers, and they worked efficiently and effectively to serve the customers.
I went here on my lunch break today and I haven’t been here in quite some time. I must say that I was highly disappointed. First and foremost they were out of original links and again this was around 1pm, so I settled for spicy. I got the sandwich with side and drink for 14.99. So when it was time to pay the young lady pulled out her cell phone. I’m like WTH, so I literally had to type my cc number into her phone to pay, very uncomfortable. They only had 2 drink selections. It wasn’t packed at all but yet it took about 15 minutes for me to get my food. I asked for pickles and the young lady told me they don’t have pickles OR onions. This place is not what it used to be. I hated the food, dirty rice was bland as ever. Won’t be back, literally wasted 16 dollars because it went to the trash.

Food was very good with plenty of flavor, and the portions were satisfying.
Service was quick and friendly, and the atmosphere makes it a great spot to enjoy some true BBQ. One of the better BBQ places in the area and worth the visit.

Man, what a disappointment this place was. I’ve been trying to get to this joint for a long time after hearing such good things and when I finally do, it was a real letdown. To be fair I went at 3 o’clock on a Friday afternoon and they only had chicken, regular sausage and ribs left. I also got the potato salad and beans, but to be honest it’s none of it was very good at all. I mean, frankly the food just flat out wasn’t good and the young man running the cash register seems like she hates his job. Giving it two stars is really too generous, but this place has the potential to be good. Hopefully they don’t go out of business.

Been going here for awhile, hadn't been in a year. Was in the area so I decided to visit. Hate saying this.... I ordered a rib sandwich, that when I do order one I eat it right in the parking lot. This time I decided to wait until I get home. Get home and unwrap my sandwich just to see that my ribs were half done even a Lil blood. That's really messed up for whoever cut those ribs for my sandwich saw this and served it. What kind of BBQ joint don't have BBQ sauce ready when they open. When I heard that about the sauce I kinda felt something would be off and it was. My dogs seem liked they enjoyed them.

🔥 5 Stars Ain’t Enough for This BBQ Glory! 🔥
Listen. I came. I saw. I got rib-loaded and potato-wrecked in the best way possible.
Burns Original BBQ isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a saucy, smoky, soul-healing experience. I ordered the rib-loaded potato thinking I was just getting dinner… but no. What I got was a life event. This thing showed up bigger than my future and twice as satisfying.
The ribs? Falling off the bone like they got trust issues. Smoky, tender, perfectly seasoned — like your grandma whispered secrets to them while they cooked. And that potato? It’s not a side. It’s a main character, loaded down with meat like it just hit the Texas lottery.
The staff were friendly, the portions were absurd (in a good way), and the sauce? I’d drink it out of a coffee mug if society would let me.
10/10 — would trade a family heirloom for another bite. Burns, you’ve officially ruined all other BBQ for me. Bravo.

They run out of everything to fast which is like a double edge sword, because I'd they're running out, that means people are buying, but they've been in business for over 45 years, so by now they should know what's the most popular and what's not, out of ribs is unacceptable, the weekend before the whole place was closed about 2 hours before posted time because they had sold out. Then you can't call ahead because they won't answer the phone, this place is a 45 minute drive from where I was coming from. The food was great though. Ribs tender, chicken good, dirty rice nice, green beans good. We wanted a baked potato, but they were out of those too, we got there around 3:45 -4. Also the cold drinks were limited.

Ribs had no flavor (tasted old), Potato salad was bland, and beans were ranch style beans from the can mixed with some type of meat. Sliced beef was okay! Did not meet my expectations!

My daughter brought this home for me. The best brisket, green beans and potato salad I have ever had! A must try.

Second visit in a long time. I went early 12noon, not crowded. The cashiers provided great service. The BBQ was delicious. I wanted to eat there, but it's a covered outside dining area without any ways to prevent sharing your food with the flies. Also, the side dishes aren't tasty. I would go there again, and order only the meats, and extra BBQ sauce(delicious).
