I used to go with my family to cafe Montrose which was the owners previous restaurant. The food is unchanged and still excellent. If you like Mussels this is the place in Houston to go to.
Went here for Sunday brunch. Wasn’t crowded and got seated immediately. Enjoyed the decor and the general ambiance. They have an extensive beer menu, but just got some coffee this time. Ordered a croque madame - enjoyed the food very much. The dish was filling and I did not leave feeling hungry. Would like to come for lunch/dinner service next time.
Truly authentic experience. Went there for the weekend brunch. Huge portions, enough to share. Really enjoyed the food and the vibe. I was curious about the cartoons and the owner was kind enough to explain them to me.
