We loved the place. However, the beer chicken was very bland. And when it was obvious to the waitress that we were on a keto diet, when I told her to hold the cornbread roll, it seems that she would have noted that ingredients not listed on the menu, included black eyed peas and rice. But the beer was good, we sat outside with heat lamps. I will return, but not order the beer can chicken.
We had a group of 20 people with a variety of separate checks - families, singles, couples etc. They made sure we had the table space and were very agreeable to the separate checks. Food and beer was good, too.
Server had us waiting 5-10 minutes to greet us and serve water. Then again when we were waiting for the check so that another server had to come help us. Cheese plate was delicious but rest of food not so much. The tvs were so loud that even though the restaurant wasn't full and we were on the far side from the tvs we could hardly hear each other across the table.
Good food....great beer. I love the crab cake. The portion size is enough for three people to share. You can't go wrong with any dish here. The only real suggestion is to order the beer flight.
The staff was great and accommodating but the food was unremarkable, especially for the price point. I would visit karbach for beer only but would definitely not encourage dining. That is the first and last time I will have a meal there.
I dined with a group from my neighborhood and there was something for everyone. All the food was fresh and dedication to quality was obvious . Will definitely return! Great value too!
We went here for a birthday lunch, the birthday boy is a fan of beer! We enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. The beer drinkers enjoyed the beer flights and we all loved our desserts:-) Overall it was a lovely lunch.
Loved this place! Great atmosphere with a very friendly and casual vibe. Everything we ordered was delicious and the beer was cold and yummy. I will definitely come again and recommend this place to my friends.
We ate at Karlbach for two reasons. Our son was playing on the patio and our granddaughter and her husband were visiting Houston and wanted to hear him play. The food was very tasty and the portions were huge. I thought it was a bit pricey but perhaps we ordered too much. I had the mussels and writes and a barbecue sandwich. Either one would have been enough! The patio was delightful and we would definitely go back to hear the Steve Gilbert band when the weather is warmer.
The beer selection was great, we did a couple of beer flights, to enjoy several flavors without paying too much. The pretzel app was really good, but I wasn't too thrilled with the Tacos al pastor. The flavor overall was mediocre, the salsa was bland and too mild, but what got me was the smell that the metal taco holder (idk what these are called tbh) left behind. It made the entire tortilla smell of metal!! My hubby's brisket sandwich was okay but nothing to get excited about.

I had a very good food, drink and service experience at Karbach Brewery. I had a flight of tasty fresh brewed on the premises beer including some which were cask aged. Surprisingly fresh cod is used in the fish and chips I ate in their restaurant (frozen cod is frequently used in Houston restaurants which serve fish and chips you can definitely taste the difference). I do recommend this restaurant.
Food and beer was good. We had the Korean Fried Chicken, Pretzel, Fish and Chips, Chicken Saltimbocca, and Toffee Sticky Pudding. We enjoyed selecting and tasting various beers in our beer flight. The only downside was noise level and inattentive service. We had the toffee sticky pudding with ice cream, but they didn't bring us spoons. When I asked for spoons, they never brought them. So over half the ice cream melted on the plate. Sad.
Our server (Amanda) was wonderful! She was so helpful in our search for a beer we would like (we are all wine drinkers). The pretzel is a MUST. My chef salad was wonderful. Thanks for a great evening!
The beer here is of course very good, but the food is outstanding. All fresh, local ingredients and scratch made. There is a good variety in options as well as price. For the quality of the food, the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very cool, and outdoor dining space is excellent for one of those rare comfortable spring evenings we sometimes get here in Houston.
I have been multiple times for lunch and dinner and every time the beer selection is outstanding, the food is inventive and delicious and the service is great. One of the best gastropubs in Houston
