The Atmosphere was great! We enjoyed the outdoor music in the patio, the host was friendly, but apart from that everything else was average. The sever was not attentive at all, and the food was average. We had a chile con queso, was extremely watery and I ordered the brisket enchiladas because a lot of people had said they were good. In all honesty they were not as good as expected. My daughter had ordered the chicken quesadilla and she mentioned that it was spicy. More than likely we won’t be visiting again.

we decided on Candente, a Michelin star restaurant. The chicken combo dish and premium margarita were excellent. Our server was also outstanding. The chips and salsa were okay but would like to return and try again. The chips and creamy salsa were both a little too salty. The parking was a bit of a challenge but we found parking in garage from entrance on other side of the block & walked to ground from second level. No reservations were accepted, but upon entering they took my name and phone number & said they would call first then text when table was ready. They texted several times first and I didn't see it because I was waiting on a call as stated- since I was only a few feet away on outside patio, I walked in after just having missed a call and we got seated. Later I saw a text saying our table had been given up. What? I guess since I didn't see the text, almost or did lose an original table? How simple it would have been just to call out my name once or twice where guests were clearly waiting? Seemed a bit ridiculous and impersonal if you ask me. The atmosphere was a bit noisy and overstimulating since we were seated near kitchen in back, but we were able to hold a conversation with no issues. Will return at a less busy time as Saturday night seemed a little chaotic.

My favorite tex Mex spot in town. Unfortunately there has been a mouse running around the outside table section the last 2 times we have been.

Saw our server maybe twice once to get our drink order and once to get the actual order. I had to go to the front desk and ask for things and see where our waiter was because we kept waiting after we were done just to get a to-go box and the check. I even tried to flag down a couple of servers that were not ours and they flat out ignored us. The atmosphere is way too chaotic and literally people were running. The workers were running. It's too bad cuz the food was amazing but the place actually was pretty but messy in terms of staff. Don't get me started on the horrible parking spaces. I had to do a 20-point turn just to find a parking spot that I could fit in.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in Houston. And the best service I’ve had in my life! The nicest waiters ever and very attentive with refills of drinks and tortilla chips. Amazing experience. My niece loved the birria tacos, I loved my chicken combo plate, the queso is to die for and I ate my weight in it. Can’t wait to go back and will try their margaritas next time too.

This is one of my fave places in HTX—my ONE wish is they would up the chips & salsa game to have the warm cantina style tortilla chips that almost melt in your mouth instead of the super hard kind. Service is solid and food is delish.

The carnitas are the BEST thing on the menu. Highly highly recommend.

The space and atmosphere were nice and spacious, easy to park. The food was good, but not hard to beat since Houston has plenty of really good Tex-mex.

Service was ok, staff didn’t seem to have a positive attitude about being there.

My neighbor and I visited Candente Restaurant in Bellaire,TX 2/6/2026. The atmosphere was very pleasant and lively. Our waitress Taylor was the best. She talked me into the Tres Leches cake. The way she described it sounded delicious and different from other's I had eaten. The cake did not disappoint. It was a 10 out of 10.
I had the taco salad with ground beef and no cheese. I would have preferred more greens other than the lone iceberg lettuce. Otherwise okay. I preferred not to use the salad dressing. I may return especially for the cake and to try a different item on the menu.
