I am from Corpus Christi and very few Mexican Restaurants make me feel at home in the Houston area. I’ve been in Houston 8 years and I am really glad I found this place. Breakfast was incredible. I can’t wait to try the lunch. Very close to the food I was raised on.

Went here with a couple of coworkers for lunch. The place looks clean and smells really yummy. You order at the counter, and then the server drops off your order. The food was ok. Had the steak Ranchero, and it was not what I expected as far as the type of sauce used, but the flavor was good. The pork ribs in green sauce were a disappointment. Meat was hard and chewy and sauce didn't seem fresh. The atmosphere is nice. Service is quick and friendly. Flour tortillas are homemade and yummy. I would come back to try something different and hopefully like it.

We've seen this restaurant change names two or three times in the last years, finally Carnitas Mexican Grill seems to have worked. Instead of having to drive closer into town for Mexican breakfast (when I don't feel like cooking) we like coming here. It is a counter service restaurant so you'll pay for your meal before you receive it. I usually stick to the same dish, Super Breakfast, which has a little bit of everything that I want. Eggs, chilaquiles, beans, chorizo and potatoes. The food is good, but I feel like it's not hot enough, hot as in temperature. The chilaquile sauce is not spicy at all, which is great for someone who doesn't like spice. I on the other hand, prefer spice. We ordered a side of bacon and it truly was horrible. The texture was similar to carne seca or beef jerky. When we brought it up to the waitress, she agreed the bacon was overcooked and brought out fresh bacon, this time cooked to perfection. The flour tortillas are fresh and hot! If you order coffee, you'll have to pour it yourself, which is not an issue. We will continue to visit as it is convenient for us.

Wow, I must say, I was skeptical about this place, and they showed up! The food was amazing, authentic, and juicy. What else can I say but to go try it for yourself so you can also say Wow. Staff was polite and patient, friendly and attentive. Thanks for the great meal, CM!!
