I enjoyed my chimichanga! The horchata was overly sweet as other reviews have noted, but I still enjoyed it. I ordered the cheesecake pancakes for dessert - supposed to have 5 things with it: cheesecake, caramel, strawberries, whip and tres leches sauce. Only the last one came with my pancakes - very disappointing and no effort made by the staff to communicate that to me. I sent them back as I didn’t think paying $11 was fair when most of the dish was missing. They were unable to provide the missing items. It was raining terribly, otherwise there is a lovely outdoor patio to enjoy. On my bill they added a “fee” - no clue what that was for.
The most delicious vegan Mexican food ever! Their birria tacos and tortas are worth the drive. Staff is super friendly and there’s plenty of seating. I wish I could try everything on the menu.
The food was very good and you don’t miss the “meat” at all. The flavor profiles are very interesting but they go well together.
It’s a must try for any foodie looking for something new!

This truly was the worst service I have ever experienced. It took 45 minutes for the waiter to take our order and it took at least an hour for the food to arrive, with all the food in our party coming at least thirty minutes apart depending on the person. The tacos tasted good but the queso was cold by the time I got it. The waiter even accidentally hit my friend on the head with a plate when he brought the food to our table and did not apologize. The waiter never came by to check on us and we had to walk to the host stand twice to get water. They gave me pitchers of water at the host stand in order to fill our glasses. If you want to wait and WORK for your food, this is the place for you.

Best vegan Mexican food
I have been going to Cascabel since they opened their doors September 2020– I was at their opening party and all. I hate to say this but so much has changed since then. As a loyal vegan, I have either dined at Cascabel or had it delivered to me frequently throughout the years. I am also all about supporting small business so this review doesn’t come lightly. The purpose of this review is that it’s heard by the owner/management to understand that some changes desperately need to be made.
Saturday (Aug 16, 2025) I came to Cascabel at 9am (Google states they open at 8; see picture) and they were closed. I called the store and could hear the phone ringing inside the building. So my friend and I went to go get coffee elsewhere and we returned at 10 AM, as this is when they open according to their sign outside their door (see picture). When we came back at 10, there were two guys at the front desk who seemed surprised that we came in. He was nice but very inexperienced in customer service and said he “thinks” they open at 10:30 but the kitchen “may not” start cooking and accepting orders until 11. I told him about the sign outside their window and the Google time, and he said “oh it should say 11 on it for today I think”. It was very unprofessional and we had to prompt him to say whether or not we could wait inside in the AC or outside and he really left us no choice but to sit outside in the heat. We weren’t going to argue, but it was shocking and also I am nearly 8 months pregnant and I thought there would be some effort made to make us comfortable.
After 10-15 minutes outside, he brought us a menu to review outside even though he had set the tables up inside. So we eventually stood up, went back inside and claimed we were hot and I was pregnant and he finally said we could sit inside. Once we were seated, I needed to use the restroom and I pretty much walked right into a construction zone. Once I was told by the construction worker where the other bathroom is, it was pretty sad to see how run down the other bathroom was. I was also very shocked to see that they had changed the inside furniture and it looks like patio furniture inside and looks like they had to sell their nicer furniture? I’m unsure and not trying to be ugly, but it’s just crazy how down hill the atmosphere of this restaurant is.
I will say though, even though the service was pretty crappy and the atmosphere has drastically changed, the food was still soooo delicious. I want them to know that and I still want to support them… but they really need to evaluate their staff, fix up their space, and be more professional about what time they open/close and make that transparent on all fronts. As Instagram, Google/apple, and their store sign having different opening times is confusing and could really affect their business. After looking at their Instagram bio, I see that they stated they are closing. This is devastating but I hope they can come back strong and address these issues! I really am rooting for them.

I’ve been here a couple of times since they have opened and I always end up getting sick from my stomach the day after. I should have known then to stop coming but I try to give them the benefit of the doubt. I think they cook with too much oil and the restaurant is not as sanitary. My biggest red flag should have been when I came about 4 years ago and they had a glass case with pan dulce and there were flies everywhere inside of it. I was disgusted because I wanted pan dulce. I remember thinking why aren’t they embarrassed.I went today since they’re almost closing, and ordered online. 2 horchatas, 2 tortas, churros, and buñuelos. I get there, they’re out of horchata and churros and they’re unsure if they can give me a refund. I wait 30 or more minutes until I tell them to just give me refund in cash for missing items. While waiting I saw a fly, also saw a bug crawling on the wall by the kitchen. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was a roach like other reviews have stated. This place looks like it’s falling apart. I’m not surprised they’re closing. Hopefully I don’t get too sick tomorrow… also $5 for a coke is insane. They also charge a $2 fee for who knows what when ordering online, and I still had to pay $4 for taxes. Just for those things I mentioned, I paid $59…

Be careful going to this place.
I had the WORST experience at Cascabel. I stood at the counter for 8 full minutes while the two guys working there completely ignored me. No “we’ll be right with you,” no eye contact — nothing. It was like I didn’t even exist.
But the second someone else walked in? They rushed to help them without hesitation. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I came because a friend of mine who’s vegan said it was a great spot and I really wanted to support it — but after this, I’m good.
Do better. This was unacceptable.

I discovered this restaurant about a month ago, and I've eaten there 3 times already. The food is very tasty and the portions are large. I definitely feel like I get my money's worth every time I go. This restaurant is off the beaten path, which is what I love the most. I believe it's family owned which makes it feel authentic. If you're looking for really good vegan Mexican food, this is your spot.

This place is definitely a hidden gem! I've never had vegan mexican cuisine but i definitely will be back! I couldn't tell for one minute that I wasn't eating a regular burrito and drinking a delicious horchata! 1000/10 , great service as well :)

Editing because they’ve cancelled my DoorDash orders 5 times in a row now.
This is it, this is the best vegan place. Try their Al Pastor on a flour tortilla.
EDIT: I’ve been here dozens of times now and I’ve only had good service once. Still five emphatic stars but manage your expediency expectations lol

I came here to celebrate a friend's birthday, and we had the best dinner and service here! All of the food was delicious, and the servers were super sweet and very accommodating to our large group of about 20 people. We were surprised how well they handled our large group because it is set up for smaller tables, but they did not hesitate to accommodate our needs and they went above and beyond! I will definitely come back again.
