Lovely experience. Live piano music playing in the background. Delicious food and dessert. Nice martini. Friendly greeting and attentive staff.

Chicken piccata tough chicken breast. Could not taste the capers. Breast should be breaded. Caesar salad was uneventful, wilted lettuce. Young girl serving it had absolutely no personality.

Expectations are everything. If you haven't been before, then know this - Cavatore is not a white table cloth, highly inventive, fine cuisine-type of Italian restaurant. It is a family friendly, neighborhood spot with a cozy atmosphere, good food, and friendly service. We had the spaghetti and meatballs, the pasta Giancarlo, and a glass of wine while we sat the bar. Piano player was very talented, as well! It was a nice casual dinner out. Food costs have gotten higher, but we didn't leave hungry by any means. Tiramisu was delicious - very well balanced. It's a family run, casual establishment in the Heights, and we enjoyed our evening here.

I had an amazing experience from start to finish. The service was 100% very attentive and friendly. I ordered the red snapper and it was absolutely delicious. And the desserts… don’t even get me started, they were incredible. I’ll definitely be coming back!😍

I was disappointed because, despite carefully reviewing my order, the server made an error. I was aware that there would be an additional charge for the way I had ordered it, but when I asked if it could be reduced to the original price, I was informed that it couldn't be. Regrettably, this isn't the first time this has happened. As a result, I won't be returning to this establishment.

Atmosphere is dope. Service good.
Food - mid. Tomato soup & champignon caps tasted good. But the pizza was bad… no crispiness, no crust, sour-ish, flavorless

To start with the bad:
Anyone who thinks this is an Italian restaurant is very wrong. This place served me some of the worst Italian food I have ever had. The 'carbonara' was a small $25 portion of spaghetti alfredo. Disgusting. Do yourself a favor and go to a real Italian spot, like an original (Johnny owned) Carrabas or DiMarcos. This place is nowhere close to authentic. Anyone who says that this place is authentic is delusional, or has not had real Italian food.

This being said, the service was very good. I had a great waiter, the food came out promptly, and I was very well attended to. The atmosphere was dirty. The restaurant is unclean, yet kind of cozy, and seems like a decent place to grab a drink.

Even with this, I will not return to Cavatore. Nor will I recommend this travesty of an 'Italian' restaurant anyone I know - friend or foe.

We enjoy soft background piano but the piano playing was extremely loud and distracting. We politely asked for softer playing but it did not happen. Also some fellow diners appeared to come in out of the gutter. Too bad some reasonable dress code cannot be administered. This may be our last trip to Cavatore.

Great food. Typically I enjoy the pianist, but tonight it seemed too loud. Observed another table asking to be moved because it was so loud.

It has been our recent tradition to dine at Cavatore Italian Restaurant on Christmas Eve. In the beginning our experience was good but for the last two years it has been poor and poorer. Last year we experienced rushed service but the food was good. This year both the service and the food were poor. Our waiter had a difficult time with the English language, was inattentive and totally indifferent to our dining experience. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for our appetizer. They were good but nothing special. We split the the Veal Marsala for dinner. The meat was tough and barely edible. The marsala sauce was horrible. It tasted like flour and had the consistency of slightly watered down paste. Needless to say, we skipped desert.
