Drinks and water are self serve and all of the sandwich I have tried so far are delicious, I have yet tried the dessert here, but it looks good. Don't like the marijuana decoration scary you away because the food does not have THC in it.

Located in Sawyer Yard, Cheba Hut has a huge, shared parking lot, which is great considering parking is always a challenge around here.
I love the vibe of this place, and you don't have to be into chronic to come here, and I am certainly not (but if you are, that's probably a bonus for you).
You order at the counter, and the workers are always helpful and friendly. While I have had several sandwiches, and almost always get the 4" nugg size, my favorite is the Kali Mist. I have also had the Kind and the Jamaican Red. I am sure there isn't a bad sandwich here. I am looking forward to trying the AK-47, which is the French dip, too.
They have a full bar, although I have never partaken of it, and usually there are people sitting outside selling stuff, although I have never checked that out either.

However, the owner reached out, changed my perspective, and helped make things whole. I appreciate their effort and am slowly moving toward being happy with this establishment and their service.

Recommended by a friend and the food did not disappoint!! Sandwiches were unique with fresh vegetables cut in big pieces and everything was made fresh. Not your average sandwich shop for sure!! Not really our type of atmosphere (Marijuana everything lol) but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED food!!!

Pretty excellent place to get a sub. The stoner theme just adds to the charm. Definitely represents Houston very well, located in the gentrified district of one of the wards.
The staff are a curious bunch of folks that can be charming or standoffish depending on the individual, I presume. It’s nothing that should keep you from checking it out though.
Plenty of parking and it doesn’t cost anything, the surrounding area feels like a burgeoning artistic district in its beginnings.
The most important part is the food, how is it? The sandwiches are exquisite and large, I would not recommend getting the largest size unless you’re truly famished or annihilated on a strain that causes inhuman appetite. Plenty of flavor profiles to choose from, and some quirky mixtures for adventurous palettes.
Very good food….for sure taken by surprise! Subs are fully loaded too. Our first time and didn’t know what to expect. 100% Recommend. We WILL be coming back.
