I used to really enjoy eating here, but lately the quality has been disappointing. Yesterday’s meal was probably my last. My bowl had only a few pieces of old lettuce, and I even found a strange object in my salsa, which completely ruined my appetite. Unfortunately, this place has gone from being a favorite to feeling very mediocre.
I got the K’pop chicken bowl and a side of kimchi fries. Food was great! Definitely a good place to grab a quick bite/lunch. This was my first time here and I liked that there were pre-built bowls on the menu. I was worried I’d make a wrong selection by building my own bowl. I tried this and was surprised on how much I enjoyed it! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The vibe was chill - nothing fancy. The vibe/layout reminds me of chipotle. Also parking was free which is a plus considering it’s the Heights.

I’ve always loved the bowls here, but decided to try the “ssam” tonight. VERY disappointing. It’s 75% rice, super dry & fell apart when I bit into it, and I found maybe 2 pieces of each topping I selected. Also, I clearly ordered queso and got a cup of guacamole. This quickly and unfortunately changed my opinion on one of my favorite spots in Austin.

The food was so good, it kept such magnificent flavor even when we ate it cold. This place is so much better than Chipotle. The flavors gave me bold, exciting, and new—somewhat experimental, like Mendocino Farms. French kiss. And for once, a place that has staff who care about the diner. Very refreshing.

The food was good but the k.pop chicken was alittle too crunchy for my liking; just a personal preference, but all around it’s a good spot.

Great fusion between Mexican and Korean flavors with large portions and quick service
Had to wait 30 minutes after my food was supposed to be ready for them to finally finish making my order. They had forgotten to start my order until I arrived, mind you the restaurant was dead empty so it wasn’t because it was busy. The kimchi fries were left open and spilled in the bag and when I finally got home I notice they did not put the sauce in the bowls. It appeared that every staff member was working their first shift in food service.
Omg I can’t believe how good this was 😭😭
There’s too much good Mexican and good Korean food in Houston to settle for a mediocre fusion of both.

To keep it real, I walked into Chi’Lantro craving pizza. Plot twist: I left in a full-blown love affair with Korean BBQ. I got the combo plate with Korean fried chicken and grilled kimchi chicken over noodles and sticky rice—because why choose? The veggies were crisp, the sauces slapped, and every bite had me rethinking my life choices (in a good way). The place was spotless, the staff was chill, and as if that wasn’t enough, I made a new friend while dining in. Shoutout to serendipity and spicy sauce. 5/5 recommend
2 burritos and kimchi fries with drinks for $51? Good lord, no wonder people don't eat out much anymore.

Chi’Lantro is a fusion take on other build your own burrito/bowl restaurants. I did the K-pop chicken bowl. The chicken itself is fried super crispy like you would expect from Korean fried chicken. The sauce has a sweet and sour chicken meats peanut butter vibe to me. All the veggies and everything that were on top made the bowl much lighter and fresher which was nice. The sauces are good but I much prefer the lighter magic sauce over the spicy ranch as it seemed fresher and was less like a dipping sauce. I would suggest getting your sauce on the side just in case. Good portions for the price IMO.

The food was a lot better than I originally expected for a fast food place. It was recommended to me by my sister she called it a “Korean Chipotle” and I would describe it the same way. A lot of really good options. Give it a try I think you’d like it.

I was excited to try this place with my husband. We drive past it all the time. Service wasn't bad, but the portion size for the money you're paying is ridiculous! I ordered the K-pop chicken bowl, and it was flavorful, and the chicken was made fresh, but it was kind of tough for freshly made chicken. The fries were insanely expensive for the amount you're given. We spent 14 dollars on a little brown fry basket ( original kimchi fries) that literally came with 4 pieces of the K-pop chicken. Mind you, we paid an extra 4 dollars to add a Protien. So that's literally a dollar per piece of chicken. What a rip-off, and my husband was still hungry. We won't be coming back.
