We went on a rainy Saturday at 6 pm and the place was nearly empty. Unsure why, as the food was great and the service was fantastic! I had Christie's Pride, hubby had a steak, and the kiddo had the shrimp combo. Really fresh and delicious.

Today, I attended a celebration held here. The service was top notch; from the greeting to the walking out the door. up. Every employee was very attentive, helpful and appeared to really enjoy working here. The food was served promptly and was nice and hot (especially the bread)! The atmosphere is a blast from the past in a good way. I appreciate a place like this because it is more attentive to the needs of the customers instead of the feeling of being rustled in and out like cattle which is how I often feel in most restaurants.

It's been a while since I've been at Christie's. Used to live by the Galleria and it was one of my go-to seafood places.
From what I remember the fish options were better and more akin to what you would get in a creole restaurant.
We had a blackened salmon that was overcooked and a bit dry. The other order was the Christie's pride which was a disjointed watery mess. The side au-gratin dish was amazing, as were the smoked oysters. They used to have Greek beer (Mythos) which sadly they were out of. Service was great. I'd be returning for oysters and drinks, the fish is not as good as I remember it.

Christie’s Seafood & Steaks is more than just a restaurant—it’s a true family tradition. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and it has long been our family’s go-to spot. George and his family, following in the footsteps of his parents, have continued to uphold a legacy that spans nearly a century.
The food is outstanding—some of the best seafood and steaks in the city—always served fresh, plentiful, and with a smile. The portions are generous (you will not leave hungry), and the value remains exceptional, especially considering the quality and history behind every dish.
The service is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which only adds to the experience. This is a place where you feel like family the moment you walk in.
If you visit, don’t miss the fresh seafood—especially the fried shrimp. It’s excellent.
Christie’s is a rare, family-owned gem that continues to deliver consistency, quality, and value. It has been a staple for our family for years and will remain so for many more to come.

Food was great. I had the seafood platter (1 catfish fillet, 2 fried shrimp, stuffed crab and a side) and for desert the banana foster pie. I forgot to take pictures.. Wait staff also did a good job. Restaurant felt outdated, but the food was good.

We are from out of state. When traveling we look for the establishments with history. Owners are very hands on. Authentic staff, food, atmosphere and love for customers. Will be back all the way from South Dakota.

The inside just looked depressing. Very old and not kept up. The food was okay... But not for the price. It is just way overpriced regular seafood. Red Lobster is honestly so much better.

Restaurantji Recommends
Just ate here and am so glad we came. Deani, our server, was phenomenal. This was our first time and she shared the history of the restaurant which goes back to 1917!!! It relocated over the years but has maintained its seafood expertise, which is what truly counts. I had the blackened salmon and tomato green beans, a Greek recipe. Fabulous!

Wasn't impressed with the food. The oysters were good but everything else was pretty underwhelming. Wouldn't come back.

After hearing about this place for years on the Radio....my wife and I drove down there to try it. The food was worth the drive! The Seafood was fresh and properly cooked (rare even for Houston) the service was great, the dip appetizer recommendation was perfect. The house salad was VERY fresh and what really impressed us....one of the owners (or their daughter) came by the table twice....was very friendly and super nice!. We enjoy restaurants all over the country and now we have been here...We will be back for sure!
