The place is charming but is crowded and it is difficult to get in and out of the chairs. The food wasn't good. The food had a strong Mexican flavor instead of the clean Italian taste. The service was good and our waiter was very kind. Very odd to see so many mixture of tastes on several dishes and fresh pecorino cheese on everything??? I guess because how cheap it is compared to an aged pecorino or a parmigiano cheese.

Coltivare is a spot that's equal parts cozy and vibrant. This neighborhood gem offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff, despite being bustling with activity, were attentive and accommodating from start to finish. We appreciated Joshua for taking the time to work with my friend who has 6 different allergies. Greg was also accommodating! Let's start with the desserts! We tried three! While the strawberry ice cream and chocolate rum cake were undeniably tasty, it was the panna cotta that everyone loved. I think it's the honey crumbles. The pizza dough was just how I LOVE pizza. Crusty, chewy and not drenched in toppings. The linguini negro didn't quite hit the mark for me as it was lacking something? However, we all enjoyed the cacio e pepe! The mussels were nicely sauced, I would've appreciated toast to soak up the flavors. The salads provided our daily vegetables as well as the cauliflower. I opted for the French 75 cocktail, my go to and it was perfect.

Elevated take on the Italian classics. Great service and even better food! It's quite "lively" in the evenings, so don't expect a quiet dinner.

Probably my favorite restaurant in Houston. This is where we go to bring out of town guests. Food is always interesting and seasonal and always delicious. I'm personally addicted to their version Cacio e Pepe - one of us always has to get it. I don't know how something so simple can be so delicious but it is. My New Yorker friend said it was one of the best pizzas she's ever had. It's always super crowded so get a reservation in advance on Resy to avoid a long wait. Service is always good- not always great- but good. We love to sit on the patio- someone obviously spends a lot of time keeping that garden so gorgeous- all year long- it's stunning always

The food was so plain and disappointing. The table behind us was complaining the food as well. Our server was not having a good time, he pretty much just threw the food on the table and left…It was our one year anniversary, my husband and I were trying to not get our night ruined by it.Quite disappointed, will not come back.

So many great options on the menu! Try the Salsa Verde for sure. I added the calabrian chilies to their pepperoni pizza for some extra kick and it was excellent. Finished up with an after dinner carajillo. If the weather is good the patio is a great place to dine.

Horrible gluten free pizza. It tasted like a dry crumbly almond biscuit. Disappointing with how much more expensive it is, too, for the GF option.

If you're going for pizza here. Don't. It's very pricey and tbh just not all that. I've had bigger and better pizza for cheaper at other spots. I'm sure their other meals are better but the pizza was just eh. Our waiter also for some reason seem to have give a smirk when I asked questions. And but a good kind of smirk. Overall just wasn't a good place in my eyes.

We've been coming here for several years, but seems things are slowly deteriorating with each visit. We came last Saturday and the waiter, although he said he had been there several years, embarrassingly stumbled through the menu descriptions and had to return to the table to correct his mistakes. He was not familiar with the "new" items. The meatballs were not quality. They literally fell apart as soon as you touched them and had a strange, offensive flavor. We ordered the Tagliatele and the Linguini. Both were ok, but not the level the dishes used to be. We also got the Focaccia, tough, and the lemon ricotta, which was very refreshing and clean. It wasn't a horrible experience, but definitely not what we have enjoyed in the past. Maybe it was an off night, but I did want to let the team know. We always support our neighborhood restaurants and we live just a few blocks away, but I think we might try some other places for a while. We used to walk out of there so impressed, but lately it's just been "meh".
