My go to for amazing consistency for Dominican soul food

I visited Comfort Foodies when they first opened and finally made it back because I work close by now. It's just as good, if not better than the first time I tried them in their early opening days..AND there's even more menu items plus tasty cocktails. I'm excited to share this treasure with my new colleagues. I'm sure I'll be the new office hero for this one.

This is our first time here and it was awesome. The service was really good and the food came out fast. We had the smothered pork chops. The pork chops was so tender and the yams and greens were just amazing. If you have not been here, you are sleeping on some really good soul food. By the way, the portions are huge.

The worst food in Houston, the taste has nothing to do with it, the supervisor or the manager or the clerk, I don't even know what she was because she had no ethics to serve the customer with very bad manners when she realized that she didn't know English, in short, I don't recommend it, if I couldn't give it any stars, I wouldn't give it. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

I definitely miss their oxtail empandas since I moved away from Houston nearly 2 years ago, but I'm so glad they are shipping them now! Also, the burgers and the lamb chops are so good!

i usually really like this place but i ordered some today and im horribly sick :( probably won’t order here again, don’t wanna risk it.

Serious temperature issues with the fish we ordered. Everything was wet. Missing sauces for fish. When I spoke to the manager, she stated "it wasn't her problem. It had to be something else. "

I ordered take out from this place and was pleasantly surprised. The food was so delicious! It tasted like someone's grandmother cooked it with a lot of love! I can't wait to go back!

I’ve eaten at Comfort Foodies a couple of times and the food was good and cooked well. My experience this week was subpar. They’ve changed their services and no longer offer a complimentary piece of cornbread with your meal, you have to purchase it separately. My husband and I ordered two plates and the rice and peas were under cooked and grainy. I made the mistake of ordering extra rice and had to throw it away. The picture I posted is my husband’s plate the next day. He warmed it up to see if it would taste better, but the rice is still too grainy so he’s throwing it away. That’s $50 wasted on food we couldn’t eat. It’s unfortunate that the soul food options are limited on the north end. Sadly we probably won’t order from here again after this bad experience.

I was charged twice for a meal that my 20yr old college student would have made better. Not a taste of Caribbean ANYWHERE ON THE PLATE! I called over ten times and no answer. The delivery driver called as well...NO ANSWER! HORRIBLE FOOD, EVEN WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE, TODDLER PORTIONS AND TO TOP IT OFF FRAUDULENT CHARGES. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GO HOME AND LET YOUR 10 YR OLD COOK FIRST. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I ordered the lunch special: smothered pork chop with two sides. I chose collard greens and candied yams. The candied yams were buttery and sweet! The pork chop was just okay. Friendly service and welcoming. The inside is decorated very nicely.
