Went in at 6:10 to get something with the door open and they said they were closed. Why is your door still open if you’re literally CLOSED?
This location is a commissary, not an actual store location. If you’re looking for Common Bond cafés, check their website. This site is employees only.

If your business is going to be closed for a private event, it would be considerate to update your website or post something on social media so people do not go out of their way for nothing.
Stumbled upon their location in Houston tunnels. Food was fantastic. It took a hit for it to came out but was worth it. Right amount of seasoning on scrambled eggs and my hash brown was delicious. Good spot if you are in downtown houston or heading into the tunnel system in downtown
Houston likes Common Bond a lot, apparently. I had a "ham and cheese baguette" at the Holcombe address. Food ok, except that, based on this experience, their thick, bready roll bears almost no resemblance to a genuine baguette.
We were staying at a hotel near medical center and found this place online. Gave it a try for lunch and liked the food so we came came back a second time. I had burrata and beet salad (very fresh), my sister had a hamburger which she said was good. Second time, we had flatbreads - which were crispy. I would have liked more basil on my Margherita flatbread (had plenty of cheese but only a few scraps of basil). The Shishito peppers were not what I’m used to — these were large, full of seeds and not blistered enough and too greasy. The staff working there were very nice and helpful.
Great place, pistachios croissant is a must try..!
My wife and I stopped here for breakfast. The location was convenient and close to Kelsey. Briefly, for $39 (coffee is $3.25) my wife’s egg dish with one slice of bacon and a half buttered baguette, and my eggs and sausage gravy biscuit were poorly done. My wife’s egg dish was curdled. My eggs and biscuits were not hot. This location is over priced with lackluster food.
Food was great but a bit slow. This is on the fringe of the group, being in Houston, but I had to bring Mom over here for a Dr appointment. We stopped at Common Bond for a bite for lunch or late breakfast. I had the shrimp and grits mulinus tomatoes and Mom had the french toast minus strawberries. Both were delicious and there must have been something like 8 shrimp in my bowl. I didn't know what to expect walking in but the food turned out awesome. Price for these 2 meals and a tea was $35.

I was looking for a decent lunch place while walking around and stumbled upon this. I think you come here for the pastries. I wanted a basic lunch snd ordered the salmon and a side salad. Coffee was great but I was done before the food came out. The salmon itself was cooked well but the side salad - don't bother. The lettuce was wilted and old and the tomatoes were just gross. Didn't bother eating. The place is cute, pastries looked good but seems like you have to pick a lane here.
I was just at the location on Holcombe/Medical Center today to pick up lunch for me and my husband, and was yelled at by the manager who seemed to be really bothered to take my order. He had an incredibly bad attitude and when he started yelling when I asked questions about my order, I knew I was in the wrong place. The questions were simple, such as "what type of bread do you have?" as he pointed at the wall that had many breads without tags - so I was supposed to know what they were! I also could not hear really well behind the mask (which I was grateful the staff are wearing) and a crowded restaurant at lunch-time. That's when he started yelling and speaking to me as though I was d**** almost spelling each word at high volume. In hindsight, I should have asked him to make it louder so everyone in the restaurant could hear him make a fool of himself. Regardless, this is no way to treat a customer! I will not mention all the details of my interaction with him, but one thing is so clear, I will NEVER go back to this establishment. I am unclear about his motives to treat me the way he did, but I will not tolerate such behaviour or treatment. I know this is a very popular establishment and my review is not to persuade anyone to support or not support it, I know WE won't, just simply sharing my experience at this location.

As any other CB, this one used to have a good but expensive food and coffee. Food is not so good any longer (at least my cold scramble, burned bacon and well outdated scone) but this CB also added a terrible service on his menu, probably the worst in our city. First food (breakfast) arrived and then 25-30 min later a wrong coffee did too. Another 10-15 min and order was “complete” although with to-go cup. With so many good choices nearby, just stay away, it is not worth your money and time. And yes, not even sorry from “service”...We will never made this mistake for sure.
