Been coming here for years. Authentic food that is cheap and the best waitstaff in Houston. Honestly this is one of our favorite restaurants in all of Houston. We drive 50 miles to treat ourselves here.

Food was excellent. Many native speakers. Try the fried fish with green onions. Surprisingly good. Marinated green are excellent. Pork with Peking duck sauce is worth it twice, three times …. a winner.

Food is always fantastic. I’ve been coming here for years and still discover new stuff!
Tonight my girlfriend called in an order. The young lady/woman taking my order was SO SO SO NICE AND SUPER PATIENT with my gf and I during the order process and repeated our order for us. Loved that! Most places rush you super hard.
I was worried because we were ordering at 8:10pm I know they close at 9pm and last call for orders is 8:30pm but they took my order our order and were super patient / even called us when the order was ready!

Food I ordered:
1 order of 4 x shrimp balls
1 order hot peppers with shrimp stuffing
1 order of Spicy Bean Curd with Duck mince

The shrimp balls were SO f%#king JUICEY! And HUGE! Omg love these. Everytime I order these for loved ones, partners / coworkers they are shocked at how awesome they are. I ate the shrimp balls with the sauce that came with the hot peppers stuffed shrimp. The sauce that comes with that dish along with the jalapeños made for a PERFECT dip for my shrimp balls.

The pan fried stuffed shrimp peppers were so f’ing good. The sauce that it comes with is so rich, and depth of flavor with quality spice level is going to go onto my permanent rotation going forward.

And omg the clay pot Spicy Bean Curd with Duck Mince was awesomely gelatinous and they gave me a HUGE portion for $12.99. The five spice and curry powder was very undertones in a great way to where it let the flavors all mellow together in an amazing way!

Let me say, thank you to the staff member at the Togo counter at 8:45pm today she noticed my box for my pepper shrimp was crushed and identified that and reboxed and bagged it for me. Most of the other to go staff members Ngl have sent me with bags leaking with sauce but even with me coming last minute the lady tonight really made sure to make my order come out perfect and special.

also… SHOUTOUT TO THE KITCHEN STAFF/ CHEF tonight she/he f%#king killed it tonight. I love you guys/girls at Confucius I will always come back forever

I took my family over there for lunch only 4 adult and my son 2 years old , the bill was $110 and they were add $20 tip included. They said tip included 5+ , they also count baby. This is unacceptable, 1st off all they never serve anything for my son, second they brought the food too the table and never come back. Im speechless, will never come back to this restaurant, this is stealing

This is that traditional homey-style Chinese seafood experience you’re looking for. Overall the dishes here are good and traditional, with decent flavors and reasonable prices. The chicken we ordered came in a large portion, but there was more bone and less meat than I was used to. My favorite dish by far is their lobster with ginger and green onion, definitely a standout on the menu! The lobster tasted fresh and flavorful, and ~$29 for 2 lobsters is a great deal.

Overall the service is ok, our food came out really fast, but the servers were so busy since the restaurant was so packed that it was hard to track them down to ask for other things.

I’d come back here for another solid family-style Cantonese seafood meal.

Have you ever wondered how Runescape lobster tastes? Ive been catching it all these years and never even thought to try it(my fishing level is still not 99 as I am f2p and have a life). Anyways, highly recommend the lobster here ?.

I've had dinner before, and I thought it was OK! I bought takeout on Sunday. The salt and pepper pork chop was deep-fried to dryness, the dry-fried beef river, the salted fish and chicken fried rice, and the Xingzhou fried rice were all very good. The portions of the meat were so small! Xingzhou fried rice with some green and red peppers, get one or two, you can see it completely and beg to stir-fry it! Zhongyao is more expensive than a few mosquitoes! A scallion chicken is better, but half of it costs 18.99.

Next time I will go to the house of bowl or Le lai. There are so many delicious food there but they are so expensive.

Service was attentive. Food tasted fantastic with the right amount of crunch, wok hei and flavoring. Large portions as well. The salted fried fish did not have a hint of oil flavoring and the fish filet tasted through cleanly. Will def be a spot to go back to every time I’m in Houston!

Google says the restaurant closes at 9 but on the door it shows closing time as 10:30pm. We got there around 8:10 and they told us to order as soon as possible because the kitchen will be closing soon. Food came out pretty quick (in around 10 minutes). Around 8:30 they said they had to collect our payment because they are cleaning the kitchen… (not relevant?). They added a 20% gratuity automatically (maybe because there were 5 people). At 8:45 they said they will be closing soon and they can help us pack our food to go and started taking dishes off the table right as we were still eating, to pack into to go containers!!! We were in shock that a restaurant would do this… take the food off and pack into to go containers while we are still eating!!!
