Creole Kitchen and Daiquiris

My food was fried hard. Like really hard. I’m not sure if they left it in the oil too long or re dipped it. Customer service was horrible. The guy at the register stated to me when I pulled up to order that he was busy and to hold on. Him being busy wasn’t a problem, even though it wasn’t a lot of traffic there. It’s the way customer service was throw out the window. I almost wanted to turn around then but was really hungry. Unfortunately, I will not be giving this place another try. The wait was so long for my food to come out over fried and overcooked.

The girl at the cash register needs a raise ! She is so delightful and on top of orders . My only complaint is I had two sisters with me all our orders came out one by one which was odd . First our catfish , then had to wait like 5 min in between each dish . Order Gumbo. Chicken, shrimp and crab. Very Flavorful! I’ve ate most of this before taking my pic.. 😋

Update: I’m always satisfied with the food, here. But the update on the daiquiris. I’ve come and got daiquiris twice. The drinks are super sweet & I didn’t get any type of buzz at all.

Im going to start with the good first.
The salmon burger was good and well seasoned! The meal came with sweet potatoes fries and a drink. The fries were fries - nothing to brag about. The prickly pear refresher tasted like straight water - no signs of prickly pear other than the color. The crawfish pies - OMG - horrible. The filling was watery and lacked flavor. The crawfish meat inside was very chewy and the dough was gummy. I’m not sure why these are $12 - not even worth $5 - more like remove them from the menu. This place has a high star rating on google but in real life this has been by far the worst meal I’ve had in the 6 weeks I’ve been in Houston 😔 … it left a lot to be desired.

Update: I can’t order from here any longer. It’s not worth it. Every time I have ordered from here if there’s a problem and honestly it’s just too expensive. I specifically called and asked to make sure that I would have ranch with my wings because… Who wants $20 wings that don’t come with ranch? Why is that even an option? I’ve ordered wings form them three or four times now. and I’ve ordered from this place probably at least 10 times in my life and every single time they forget something. The consistent thing that they forget is the ranch to the point where I didn’t even know they sold ranch for a while. I made a it a point to not place my order until I can get them on the phone and specifically ask for my ranch to be included in the bag.The manager Court told me specifically They would make sure I had ranch, albeit with a sarcastic tone. I’m sure you can guess what happened next. I called back and he act like he had no idea what I was talking about, said they didn’t have any DoorDash orders, and I spent most of the time with the phone on the counter listening to the music in the background because he claimed he couldn’t hear me even though I could hear myself echo just fine. For the prices, there should be no problems. If you’re going to charge $20 for 3.5 wings and some fries, you should make sure they come with what they need to come with and have a working phone to top it off. Not to mention my gumbo jeaux was watered down and the rice was hard so the meal wasnt even good. I spent my fourth and last $5 off for spending $50 (that’s how much I’ve eaten here) on this order and will just leave well enough alone. Never again it’s just too expensive for what it is and there’s too many options for gumbo in the area.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city. I’ve only ordered it on DoorDash before when I order all the time. My favorite is the gumbo jeaux and the wings. I only have two complaints… Firstly, they almost never give me the ranch with my wings. I tried to call after I order to make sure it would be included but no one answered. I also used to also have the ability to get the sauce on the side of my wings which I prefer because I usually eat the leftovers and it’s better to heat up the wings without the sauce on it but I don’t anymore on DoorDash. Moving into my second complaint, it’s a very pricey restaurant. Seven wing pieces (3.5 wings) and french fries are $20. The gumbo jeaux which is my favorite doesn’t come with enough rice in my opinion, and five dollars extra for a 8 oz container of white rice is just ridiculous. Things like that let me know that the prices are inflated severely. The prices and portions do not add up at all. For that reason I don’t order it as much as I would like because it’s very expensive. If the price is made sense, I would probably order two or three times a week, that’s how much I like it Overall I think it’s a solid restaurant but the pricing model doesn’t appeal to me.

The food was good, and the service was decent. However, the dining experience was somewhat disrupted by what appeared to be a worker sitting at a table in the lobby with a desktop computer. She was on the phone consistently, speaking loudly and using inappropriate language. It was noticeable to everyone in the restaurant, which took away from the overall atmosphere. Hopefully, this is something management can address because the food itself was enjoyable.

Foodwise - the shrimp and catfish in the Poboys was pretty salty but it was still edible. The mac and cheese, seafood dressing, and yams were great. Extra sauce were tasty as well.

Servicewise - I placed a takeout order and when I went inside to pick it up, the employee who gave me my food was just extremely unfriendly. When he gave me my bag, my drinks were missing along with all of the additional sauces that were ordered. Whenever asked about the drinks, he gave me only one and I felt like I annoyed him when I asked him for the second drink that I ordered. I also noticed that the extra sauces were not in the bag. When I told him, he kept on saying they were at the bottom of the bag. I knew they weren't so I went back to my car, opened the bag, and there were no sauces. When I went back inside to ask for what I ordered, the attitude from the employee was palpable. He kept on insisting they were at the bottom and once he realized they weren't, went back to the fridge - put the sauces down (1 was incorrect) and walked away without saying anything.

I understand people are busy and under stress, but I was kind and patient the entire time and did not get any of that in return.
