Tortilla soup and mole were very good, but the tinga de pollo, tuna tostada, and tacos de chorizo/potato were pretty average
The food was so delicious we got the flautas and the tostada's with refried beans and cojita as an appetizer then we shared asada tostada's with peppers and onions and avocado. Then for dessert we had empanadas stuffed with rice pudding and ice cream. It was so go and not very expensive. Our bill was less than 100. We also had a Paloma and margarita.

I recently visited Cuchara with friends who were dining and drinking there on Oct 2. Around 3:30pm. I’m currently undergoing serious health treatment that requires me to be on a puréed diet and unable to chew food. As most restaurants do not cater to this, I bring my own medically necessary food.
I politely asked the bartender for a spoon, and after receiving it, I was told I could not eat my own food—despite explaining my condition. When I asked for the manager, he approached me in a rude and gruff manner and continued to deny me the ability to eat even one container of food that is essential for my health. I explained I was feeling fatigued and unwell, and still, I was told to eat outside in the heat. This lack of compassion was shocking.
I was humiliated in front of my friends and strangers. The entire experience left me in tears and worsened what has already been a physically and emotionally painful journey. I was treated with no empathy, dignity, or understanding—despite being a guest at a table with paying customers.
To make matters worse, we discovered a 20% gratuity was added without notice, and my friend accidentally double-tipped.
I’ve never felt so dismissed or dehumanized because of a medical condition. I hope this message brings awareness to how harmful it is when businesses fail to consider and accommodate those with invisible disabilities.
I will never visit this place again. As it was my first public breakdown in my state. I also have plenty of other restaurants that accommodate me and my medical needs. If I don’t get a sincere apology I will be blasting them. I have to stand up for people in my state. Who should not be restricted to their homes or can speak for themselves. I had an amazing life before this. I refuse to be subjected to any lesser treatment than what I accustomed too. You know me there is no limit to the money I spend on food. It’s been so hard not to eat normally. I’m such a foodie. It’s not like I went in there alone to take up seating. I will not back down off of anything.

I went here on a Friday night with friends. It was crowded but we found a table quickly. Not sure about parking as we used valet. The food was surprisingly amazing! I had the tacos campechanos and they were so yummy. I saw a lot of couples on dates and also lots of families. Oh, and I had the Tamarindo margaritas which were sooo good! Going back as soon as I can.

Everything was delicious 😋
Great Mexican food at La Cuchara in Montrose! Everything we tried was excellent, and the Cinco de Leche dessert is a must. Just a tip: avoid the last Thursday of the month since they don’t serve main dishes then. Otherwise, highly recommended!

Authentic Mexican kitchen, ask for the specials since they had Torra de Chilaquiles con Milanesa this time and it was not on the menu as well as the traditional Chiles en Nogada as a special.

Lively atmosphere! The house margaritas & potato taquitos were delicious. Next to the bar is a funny statue with a surprise if you lift up his pancho!
