Went on a Saturday, with reservations, around 7pm.Food and service was Outstanding!!!Tried the corn n crab chowder, gumbo, Walley burger, veggies, brussel sprouts and fried rice. All was delightfully delicious. The restroom was interesting, though, both men and women use the same area.Would go again.

This was my very first time visiting Davis Street and I have an interesting experience to share. The ambiance was cozy, and the service was decent, although there were a few areas that could be improved upon. Upon ordering, I tried their chargrilled oysters. The first set with some oysters slightly burnt, which was disappointing. However, the second set redeemed the experience as they were cooked to perfection, although they were a bit drowned in sauce. A suggestion for improvement would be to use a little less sauce next time to let the natural flavors shine through. Moving on to the drinks, the bartender crafted a delicious old fashioned, showcasing their skill and expertise. However, I noticed that the staff could have been more attentive to the customers. RJ was very attentive, Jen I assumed was just super busy. Very nice but wasn't the most attentive however the drinks they made were great. One aspect that left me wanting more was the limited menu offerings. I was only presented with the bar and drink menu upon sitting at the bar. It would be beneficial for the restaurant to offer the full menu to all guests, regardless of where they are seated. Overall, despite a few hiccups, the restaurant showed promise, and with some adjustments, it has the potential to become a favorite spot for many.

What an outstanding dining experience! There is so much love and care put into this food and this establishment. It shows. Listen the ROLLS were top tier. That's how serious they are! Mr. Benjamin provided such outstanding service and expertise. He recommended my coconut cake dessert, and I must say I've never had a such a deliciously decadent piece of coconut cake. As a fellow big arm gul, somebody with big upper arms inspired that cake. Y'all THE MUSIC in the background had us going. Not in a hookah on the tables going, but you're going to sway a lil. They are thoughtful. They are intentional. They did ALL of that. Compliments to the chef and everyone in the building.

I haven't been to Davis Street in years, and I regret that!!! It was amazing!! The food was good, our server was so sweet, and the ambiance was perfect for an after church breakfast/brunch! I'll be back sooner rather than later!

I typically am at Davis Street with a friend every Saturday evening. Wait staff are always polite and helpful in clarifying information on off menu items. Sommelier Kevin always has helpful suggestions on wine pairing, and maintains a huge in house wine cellar. Food is always outstanding. I highly recommend!

Wouldn't go back servers had 0 idea of the table numbers. Kept bringing the wrong food to our table and to other tables. Ordered drinks before appetizers but our appetizers arrived 20 minutes before our drinks. Servers dropped 2 glasses and shattered everywhere one was close to me. Thai Fish was good other than that everything else was below average.

For Valentine Day 2024 Dinner. I would say that the drinks was better than option ls for $95. The piece of corn bread and black eye pea w/ mystery sauce was less a bite and I understand the (fancy). The entree limited menu was disappointing but the cake was awesome. Next time, I'll try brunch next time. But I'm here to support black business for black history month.

Overall amazing experience with my wife for Valentine's Day! The food was excellent and service. Amazing however, they are priced pretty steep, and comparison to other restaurants at that level.

Davis Street is a beautiful restaurant with a great staff. The ambience is nice, they play great soulful music, and our servers were patient and attentive. As for the food , the Thai chill shrimp were good , mash potatoes were good . I had filet mignon and it was OK… It was a little fatty. my friend also had a filet mignon and hers came out overcooked. Grilled octopus was very firm & chewy.strawberry lemon drops were good . I am from New Jersey so it takes me a while to get a custom to the slower Service received in the southern states. They are simply taking their time, which can be a good thing but we were in the restaurant for about three hours. We were a large party, but everything was brought out at once. The brussels sprouts were tasty, but I felt they were a little salty. But again it seems like everything we ate in Houston was salty. The lobster tail was good. Also, I recommend getting it steamed. The grilled one may have more flavor from the grill, but to me, it just seemed saltier. They were recommending this flash fried snapper, everytime it came out it looked great. I wish I could have tried it. Again, the restaurant was beautiful and the service was great. I was not blown away by the food though.. I would return there and try a different steak.
