10/10 experience! From the moment we walked in service was amazing. We were welcomed in and handed a menu and continued to be taken care of promptly throughout the night. The vibes are immaculate, music was great, and this will definitely be our new go-to spot!

Atmosphere: 7/10 Located in Montrose, Donna’s leans into a clear retro aesthetic with a solid, good-looking backbar and a well-planned seating layout — bar seats, booths, and shared high-tops that keep the room social. The pedigree matters: same ownership as Houston staples Anvil, Refuge, and BLT, which shows in the fundamentals. Music is fine before 7pm, but later in the evening and on weekends it becomes extremely loud, to the point where conversation is difficult — a notable downside for an otherwise comfortable space.
Drinks: 8.5/10 Recommendation: Jacki’s Martini The menu is very simple but relatively stylish, with a focused and well-chosen drink selection. Execution is strong across the board. Flavors are very good, with well-balanced recipes that feel confident and clean. Glassware is above average, garnish work is neat, and presentation — including ice — is solid. No coasters, but overall drink delivery is polished and consistent.
Service: 7/10 Water is served only on request. The team is friendly, professional, and attentive, though not operating at a world-class level. Service flows smoothly without friction. Reservations aren’t needed. Pricing is average for Houston, which feels appropriate for the experience delivered.

I do wish the music was a bit quieter. It seems like the bar is quite music forward with many retro speakers and sound systems, but it was difficult to have a conversation without practically screaming.
I didn’t ask if they offered, but would love some snack options, even if it’s just nuts.

Donna’s is special! The ambiance & music were perfect. We came on a Friday night and it was packed - but even though it was super busy, we were greated so warmly & the service was amazing. So excited for Donna’s to be here!
We tried Donna's! (recently opened) we were welcomed & found the scene to be warm & retro, the seating to the lighting were cozy, straight bar for drinks only, no tv's for games or food, more of a place to go with your significant other for snuggles or friends to have a good conversation. Staff was polite & attentive to our cups being empty, our water were promptly topped off once low. Come & enjoy a new experience at Donna's.
