Okay so update to my initial review. I hadn’t ordered from here since my last review because of my complaints and decided to give them another chance and it keeps getting worse. They have increased their prices but keep reducing the portions. It also seems like they are adding water to the “stew” after making it. Will not be seeing me again. Added pictures for reference
So I order from here a good amount of time and the portions are so inconsistent. The food itself is decent, but again the taste is also not consistent. Anyways I ordered chicken stew last night and I basically got 3 pieces of chicken with a drop of stew, wasn’t even enough for one meal.
Will stop ordering till you get it together

I have had their food several times before via online order, today was my first time coming in. They’re located within a food hall, and you place orders on a touch screen. The food is good, however, I wish they had someone who is available to answer the phone about catering orders.

perfect spot in the heart of downtown, making it easy to swing by for their delicious jollof rice after work.

I ordered vegetable soup with beef. I barely had any red stew. The beef was soooooo tough. My gums are still sore from trying to chew it honestly. And the food just had NO flavor. They usually do a great job but this time I was really let down

I ordered the refusing with beef and poundo. It was flavorful and a good portion for the price. I also ordered oat fufu and it was good as well. What sucked was the efo riro. I have only experienced that consistency of spinach from a can. It tasted fine but shame on whoever thinks it should be that overcooked. Not Frozen spinach but clearly canned down to the gray-green color. I do not plan to return.

This was the WORST peper soup. I’ve has in my life. When is pepper soup orange. A COMPLETE waste of money. Please do not order from them. I wish I could give them zero stars. Asked for beef instead of goat and still got goat. 0/10 would never recommend!! Look at the picture from their site and the picture I snapped. Looks NOTHING ALIKE!! 😡
Worst customer service experience ever. I ordered food and never got delivery for over an hour. I had to order a ride to go pick up myself.
If you are trying to get delivery from this place...you are gambling. They will cancel your order after it already being hours late. At least cancel it immediately, so that the person can get food somewhere else! I've ordered from this place multiple times because I love the egusi and poundo..but I'm done. I waited an extra hour thinking it was just late...but nope they just cancelled it and refunded my money. Very inconvenient. I had nothing for lunch.

The designer stew is as authentic as it gets. That’s the only thing I have ordered and I was referred by someone else.

The food was horrible the rice had no flavor tasted like it was uncle Ben's rice ina box and the beef was too tough the chew. I expected much more. We threw the whole meal away did not taste any African food I've had in the past 0/10 do not recommend
I’m just in town Visiting from NJ and decided to try this place . I ordered the Designer Stew ( Ayamase) and white rice. It was absolutely amazing !! I also ordered the Whole tilapia with Jollof rice incase I didn’t like the first meal and both were very good.

I’m a door dash driver and they took over 30 minutes to hand me my food.
I need to keep moving to make money but they held everyone back.

If Zero star was
possible. The food had a stale taste and upon calling the owner she said I should come in for a replacement after wasting time to go there. I was given the run around. I'm definitely adding this to the list of restaurants not to visit in Houston especially for Egusi Soup. 🥣
