The tacos were mediocre and cold and the vibe is to punk rock and secular. They play a lot of heavy metal.. if that’s your vibe then you’d probably like the atmosphere. Now, the guacamole is good and fresh so definitely get the guacamole. I just don’t like how to tacos were cold.

I left my water bottle at home and felt very faint so I went in here and asked how much for a cup of water. Not going to lie I didn’t expect anything over $2. The lady said I had to purchase a $4 soda just to get a cup of ice water. I told her nevermind. Come to Nickel City on McKinney St! Our ice water is free especially for people in the heat.

Food is fair. Service is pretty good. My car was broken into there about a year ago and I haven’t been back since and won’t go back. I came back to read the reviews just to see how the place is doing and I saw that someone else’s car was broken into in their parking lot. I learned a lesson from the break in but I also feel like if this is so common at their establishment why not hire security. That’s why I won’t go back. There are other places that have security.

First time at this location. It was a Monday night very slow. Miriam I believe was the bartender. I ordered an old fashioned she made it properly lol and it was perfect. My friends came and she took care of us. Well be back again

This is a very low key bar with amazing cocktails. The Mexican martini is on point. The service was fast. The chicharrones were excellent. I gave the food 3 stars because the guacamole was floating in some kind of oil. Definitely avoid the guac. There is limited parking in the lot but some free street parking.

Been twice and it’s been a vibe. DJ Squincy Jones and iPod Ammo brought the music with dope mixes. The kitchen was closed but the drinks were amazing. Will be back.

Awesome spot tucked away in the East End. Went here last Saturday as we were celebrating a birthday in our group of 12 and had a great time! Excellent drink prices, beer selection was on par, and can't forget the bartenders (lovely ladies)...they were taking care of business! I'll be back cause I gotta try the food!!

Good place for cocktails, a few drafts, and queso. The whisky selection is excellent (ask for the whisky menu). Don't sleep on the PAINKILLA (a boozy frozen concoction, which is discounted during happy hours). Evenings have cocktail specials, as well.

With the exception of the Adobo chicken taco and queso, I have not enjoyed the food here, for the most part. The Al pastor pork is flavorless--it seems they know this as they top it with under-ripe itty bitty chunks of pineapple, which, chefs know, overpowers every food. The fish taco was cold (including the fried fish). The barbacoa was just ok but not a taco I would order again.

The food issues have as much to do with the cook as their recipes. The price is good for the Brussels sprouts bowl, but the only saving grace was I ordered them with queso, so I was able to dip them in it. They aren't crispy, and I wouldn't order them again. I suggest you might want to try the burger. Personally, I am done with tacos here.

It is hard to effectively rate the service as it is an establishment that only provides service at the bar. If you are seated and have drinks at the bar, the bartenders and staff will check on you to see if you are doing alright.

Suggestions for improvement: The chicken is fine, but do the tacos differently. Also, it would be nice if bartenders offered suggestions while looking at the whisky menu because it is a bit overwhelming.
