This place,is pack up,if you have a baby you cant move freely because people get annoyed with the stroller, also the prices are kind of high and the bread is not that great, also the people that works there are not that friendly it gives me a vibe that they tire to deal with people. No smiles, no nice at all.

Came early Sunday morning and bought 5 pastry. It looked good but it was all stale or dry. Very disappointed. I expect better from a bakery who should make things fresh daily.

Houston Classic Sweet, Savory & Always Delicious at El Bolillo Bakery!

El Bolillo Bakery never misses. From the moment you step inside, you’re hit with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread and sweet treats that feels like home. Whether you’re popping in early morning or late afternoon, there’s always something fresh and amazing calling your name.

Their bolillos are legendary perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. The sweet breads, empanadas, cakes and especially the tres leches and pineapple cake are standouts.
The variety is impressive: from super sweet items to lighter, less sugary breads, they offer something for every taste.

What I love is that this bakery feels like a neighborhood institution. Prices are very reasonable walk in with $10‑$15 and walk out with enough bread, pastries, or cakes to delight everyone.

Customer service is warm and efficient; yes, it can get busy, but the staff keep things moving and you always feel welcome. Clean, well‑organized space, and you can tell people here take pride in what they do.

If you want authentic Mexican bakery goodness in Houston, El Bolillo is a must. Whether for breakfast con café, a sweet treat to share, or a cake for something special—it delivers every time. Highly recommend!

For the novelty of it its good to go to. The prices are not listed. For an actual bakery in the vicinity of a supermarket the prices are 2x+ more. I would not recommend unless you are going on an outing with the family. Cool to look at and visit but not for a daily.
