Used to frequent this place twice a month as a teenager because my grandparents loved it and it was very close to home. Finally stopped by with my family of 4 and we were seated immediately. We had three different servers and they came by FREQUENTLY. It was hard to hold a conversation with my husband as they were always there talking to us.
We decided on the taco plate for kids (#9) which came with a taco al carbon and refried beans and rice, the enchilada trio and I had the El Yanito. My kids wouldn’t touch their food, and after eating the beans, I realized that they were awful. Probably the worst refried beans I’ve ever had. My “fajita burrito” was covered in melted American cheese. Similar to Velveeta with nothing inside of the tortilla except for beef. It was about the quality you’d expect of Taco Cabana. The enchiladas all tasted the exact same in the trio despite stating on the menu that they were all different. The chips were not homemade and the salsa had not a hint of spice to it. It was very “tomato based”.
Bathrooms were disgusting. I walked in and walked back out because the floor around the toilet had not been cleaned in years it looked like. The entire place needs a major remodel and facelift as it looks exactly how it used to almost 15 years ago and it showing its age.
Definitely will not be back. The food hasn’t improved and there are just too many better options nearby.
