El Mapache #2 Pollos y Tacos

These tacos are so freaking delicious and some of the best tacos I've had so far in HTX. I ordered 6 of the trompo mini tacos, a burrito de Lengua and a jugo de Jamaica ($19 date for two and well worth it).The burrito was MASSIVE for starters and delicious and the flavor on the trompo was so good, seasoned to perfection and a wonderful smoky flavor and the meat wasn't dry. The Jamaica was served in a huge cup and made perfectly, not over spiced or overly sweet or too watery, it was just right. The green sauce was nice and mild with a little kick and the red sauce was had really good heat and flavor.The guy who runs the truck was super nice and helpful when it came to deciding what to get and our order was ready super quickly which was nice. Everything was hot and fresh.The only thing I didn't like was the location of this place. It's in a gas station parking lot, which isn't a problem, the problem is there is an alleyway next to the gas station that is used for....not so nice things if you catch my drift, so I wouldn't be comfortable visiting here late night by myself. They do have the option of calling in an order though so that helps. The 5* I am leaving here are strictly for the food itself and the service as the alleyway is out of the food truck's control but I did think it was worth a mention at least especially since it's a cash only establishment.I've never seen a line at this place and I'm not sure if it's because perhaps his prime time is in the evenings or because his service is so fast or because not enough people know about it. All I can say is, this place is freaking delicious and I will be back, at least once a week.Definitely give this place a try!
