Wow!!! Excellent smoked brisket. Super generous portions. $14 feed my friend and I, no way I could finish the brisket grilled cheese by myself. Although the brisket needs no BBQ sauce, the sauce they make is fire. I pray they bottle their BBQ sauce one day. The owner was super cool and blessed us with stickers in addition to the fabulous food. My friend recommended them, and El Pobre Tex Mex BBQ did NOT disappoint. Highly recommend. I will be comparing all other smoked brisket to El Pobre. Counting the days until I can share a smoked brisket grilled cheese with a friend again.
MAAAAAAAAAAAAN!! I ordered the Wagyu Bacon Cheeseburger and damn! It had to be liquid crack oozing from the burger because it was THAT good! Bacon crispy & juicy, cheeses had the perfect melt, and the bread has that hint of sweetness I've always appreciated in buns. 832 out of 10! Gotta love H-Town, gotta love El Pobre!

10/10 I highly recommend!!! Mr. Alfredo is a very honest and genuine man. He was up front and told us his food portions are big, never have I been to a place that was honest enough to tell us that. Other places want you to over order because they want the money, but not here, the food was beyond what we expected and them churros were amazing!!! We will definitely be back! Thank you Mr. Alfredo!

The brisket was perfectly moist, seasoned, and smoked! And the combination with the buttered toast and melted cheese was perfect. We also really enjoyed the large onion rings which stayed crispy throughout the meal. The value was very good as the sandwich and rings were enough for two adults. Can't wait to go back and try more of their mains and sides!
Incredible. At first glance, the prices seem typical. And by typical, I mean high because barbeque has gotten pricey. $14 for a grilled cheese? No way... Well, in relation to portion size, this food is EXCEPTIONALLY well priced. That grilled cheese came with your choice of bbq meat and was enough for two. The brisket Frito Pie was the same. And the elote, considerably cheaper but still an exceptional bargain for its size. And that aside, everything was absolutely delicious. We will absolutely come by again.

I went here after seeing rave reviews, and I was craving some tex-mex. This food truck did NOT disappoint. Every ingredient-from the fresh cheeses to the wagyu beef- combined into exactly what I would expect and crave from a tex mex location! The owner of the truck was the person that served us, and he gave plenty of recommendations because it was my first time here. The elote corn was spicy and sweet and perfectly balanced, and the quesadilla had smoked chicken that I could've eaten plain and still fallen in love with! Topped with cheese and spice, and it was the best chicken quesadilla (and the biggest) I've had in months. I don't usually opt for wagyu bacon burgers at a tex mex food truck, but when the owner said he grinds his own meat, I wanted to give it a try and WOW am I glad that I did. He warned that he doesn't add much in the way of spices, and I totally understand why; the meat was so delicious you didn't need to do anything with it! I sat at an outdoor picnic table, but I was offered to sit inside the brewery next door if I wanted to. Overall great service, delicious food, and worth the barely 15 minute wait! Give this place a try if you want fresh, satiating Tex Mex food in big portions!

We got food here a while back and it was really good. We decided to go to Equal Parts again and we were happy to see El Pobre was still there. The food is exceptional. The kindest chef making some of the best brisket and chicken ever to go into a quesadilla. We pulled up to the brewery just as he closed and he kindly made up food. The Elote was delicious and so were the homemade salsas - jalapeño and a ghost pepper. You simply must try his food!
