Out of all the El Rey locations in Houston, I think this one at Yale & 610 tops them all for food taste and customer service. The Cuban chicken taco was moist & fresh and good-sized, the horchata was addictive because it tasted so good and I couldn't believe I finished the whole cranberry orange muffin because it had a orangey flavor with whole cranberries. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful with answering my questions about the menu. Highly recommend this place.
Fast Food really doesn't get any better than this. The 1/2 chicken with either Cuban or Mexican sides is always a great meal to bring someone. The Cuban sandwich and white queso rock. Place is clean and staff is generally polite and competent.

I just picked up two large chicken tortilla soup. While the broth is good, there was only one tiny piece of chicken. It should just be called tortilla soup.

Food is incredible! The horchata and Melon water is also on point - not too sweet and not too bland. The rotisserie chicken and rice are Soo good! I will definitely be coming back with my family.

Stopped in for breakfast taco and was disappointed with the selection. Basic egg tacos no specialty tacos. I ended up with a bean and cheese with bacon and ended up with package shredded cheese still cold and reheated bacon. I will stick to taco cabana when the cheese is melted and the taco is warm. I would share the pic is I could.
This is literally my go-to at least 2-3X a week. The Cantaloupe Juice is where a lot of my money goes… That and the El Rey Fish Tacos. This has been my spot since it was a standalone in downtown Houston after work and partying and they never disappoint your girl! Plantains and Chicken are dope too. I like the family feel too.

Kool spot
Ropa Vieja tacos are my fav, so delicious and great serving size. Always enjoy their fried plantains, lemonade, and horchata. Open late is a big plus.
