The steak and ribs were both under seasoned. They were both cooked perfectly. However, the bed of onions on the hot skillet were charred. I would also not recommend getting the large order for 2-3 people. It was appropriately enough for 2, but not for 3 normal appetites.

The food at El Tiempo Cantina was absolutely perfect — fresh, flavorful, and well worth the visit. However, the service was a bit slow, especially when it came to taking our order. It felt like it took forever just to get started. That said, once things got going, everything else was great. Would definitely come back for the food!

Not that this spot needs another positive review, but I cannot ignore how great of an experience. Everything was delicious and service was wonderful. Recommend the filet mignon fajitas, guacamole & xochitl (spelling?) soup. Come hungry!

The food is great. A bit pricey for lunch and dinner. But a great weekend brunch, if you can actually get it.

The last two times my wife and I tried to go there for Saturday brunch, during the hours the place was supposed to be open, we were told they were 30-45 minutes away from being ready for customers.

What good are hours of operation if you don’t actually open when you say you’ll be open.

They have lost us as customers.

A friend recommended this restaurant when I was looking for great Mexican food in Houston, and I was very happy with the recommendation. The food was very flavourful with large portions and came out very quickly. The staff were kind and very attentive, and I enjoyed the bustling atmosphere. I woiod recommend El Tiempo to anyone looking for a Mexican meal in Houston.

This seemed like a pretty average Tex-Mex restaurant. I don’t understand the hype around it. The food was good but doesn’t stand out. This wouldn’t be my first option for Tex-Mex or Mexican food. The queso flameado wasn’t even flamed, was watery (on the outside?) and got hard quickly. Drinks were decent.

We asked everyone we knew for suggestions for Tex Mex in Houston. El Tiempo was mentioned by all who had been. They did not disappoint! It was fantastic! From the service to the desserts! The BEST tamales I’ve ever eaten! The flan, tres Leche cake are excellent! We WILL return!
