We decided to try a non-chain type restaurant, and we were pleasantly surprised. We loved to ambiance. The service was outstanding. The food and drinks were so good. We always rate our restaurant visits on a scale from 1-10. We gave Eugene's a 10 out of 10. We will definitely be going back.
5-star dining experience! A friend took me to lunch yesterday. First, we were promptly greeted and led to our table in the bar area. The hostess and the wait staff are professionally dressed, neat, and attentive. The waiter graciously gave us plenty of time to decide what to order. I had the grilled chicken on Texas toast, no cheese, and my friend had the garlic soup. We both raved about our meals. My sandwich was simple, yet amazingly tasty and well-prepared. I had crispy fries...
We were there for the 2025 Houston Restaurant weeks lunch menu and enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell, stuffed shrimp and boudin eggs Benedict. We also ordered the cajun boudin balls for an appetizer and key lime pie for dessert which was large enough for 2. We were sat in the main dining room which had quite a collection of gilded mirrors and wall sconces. Next time I will try to get seated near the bar with all the fishing photos.
