“We LOVE Blue Tuba TX, and have been numerous times, so it was a no-brainer to make a reservation for our weekend anniversary. We dined outside on the patio because the weather was lovely, but sadly, we sat in Jonathon's section, and that's where things went downhill. I'm not sure if this was Jonathon's first job in the service industry or what, but it was a night filled with one disappointment after another. When we arrived, only two other tables were outside with parties seated. We placed our happy hour drink & appetizer order, and Jonathon offered to bring me a sample of the rose' which was very nice. A few minutes later, he got my husband his beer and my sample; I told him it was fantastic and that I would take a glass. Several more parties are seated, and Jonathon is given one of them. He takes their drink order, and almost immediately, he brings out their wine and beer and then takes their dinner order. A charming young man comes out with our appetizers and asks if we need anything. I asked about my glass of wine, to which he said he'd get with your waiter. Approximately 10 minutes pass, and Jonathon arrives and asks what we need. I say I was still waiting on my wine, and my husband ordered another beer because he'd already finished his, and since the happy hour was almost over, I ordered a 2nd glass of wine despite never getting my first. A few minutes or so go by, and Jonathon stops by to tell us he could put in our 2nd drink order before happy hour expired and brings my husband his 2nd beer. All while delivering their entree and additional drink orders to the other table. Another 10 minutes pass and the same nice young man brings out our entrees and again asks if there's anything we need, to which I respond that I'm still waiting on my glass of wine and then notice the mushroom gravy I ordered didn't accompany my entree. Immediately, he says, I'll get that going for you, and a couple of minutes later, he brings it out. He asks, you still haven't gotten your wine, to which I respond, not yet. He says, let me see what I can do to help. Almost instantly, Jonathon shows up and asks what we need. I laughed and said, I'm still waiting on my 1st glass of wine, and he said, oh right, I'll get that for you and proceeded to apologize for forgetting to add my gravy but that he'd put it in and would bring it out in a minute, despite seeing that the other young man has already taken care of it. A few minutes later, he shows up with another side of gravy and a new bottle of wine, except it's not what I ordered. Before he opens the bottle, I stop him and say, that's not what I ordered, and Jonathon proceeds to argue with me. He says I brought you a sample of this, which you liked. I assured him it wasn't. I told him that I ordered a rose', you have a white wine, and he proceeded to tell me that I ordered the Vinho, and that's what this is, and opened the bottle of white. Again, I politely told him that I know what I ordered, and I ordered the Vinho rose', please get me what I ordered. Remember, we're halfway through our entrees, and still no wine. The other table has completed their meal; he's brought them the dessert menu and check. Finally, he arrives with two single carafes of my rose' and pours one into my taster glass. My husband and I finish our meals; we catch Jonathon as he's picking up the check the other couple left and asked for two to-go boxes, and a container with a lid that I could put the gravy in. He brought us our to-go containers and the check despite not asking for it because we'd planned to order dessert to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Ultimately, we walked across the street and ate ice cream at Jeni's Ice Cream. As always, the food was great, but they need to ditch Jonathon and get the very lovely African American young man with the blue vest to wait tables because he understands how to care for customers a thousand times better than Jonathon. ,“
