Parking annoying. Food underwhelming. Good service. Cute place. Absurdly expensive. The bill got a double take from me.

A great local place. Food is delicious and lots of variety. Service is friendly and so accommodating. Parking can be an issue

This place is amazing! Fried oysters and brussels sprouts appetizer is great, BEST chicken piccata ever, and amazing shrimp and grits (and I’m normally not crazy about grits). The tres leches cake is great with a strong cinnamon taste. The strawberries and cream with basil was INSANE, it is enormous and quite satiating (could easily serve three people). The base reminded me more of sugar cookie than a shortbread in texture, which is strange because I don’t like sugar cookies but I loved this; just a perfect texture and flavor. Our server was great too. We’ll definitely be back.

I recently had lunch here, and I’m compelled to share my thoughts after yet another underwhelming experience. I ordered the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo, and, frankly, it was a letdown. The roux was undeniably burnt, casting a bitter shadow over the dish, and I couldn’t find a trace of protein—where did the chicken and sausage hide? The onions were so fibrous they could’ve been mistaken as bamboo shoots.

My friend opted for the Sloppy Tides, served on an oversized hamburger bun that overwhelmed any hint of balance. It was mostly bread, though I’ll admit the fish was decent. The fries, surprisingly, stole the show as the highlight of our meal.

The atmosphere didn’t help redeem the experience—full of folks trying too hard to appear important, flashing more style than substance. This is my second visit, and sadly, my second disappointing meal. I’m starting to wonder if I’m just cursed with bad luck or if I’m missing something about this place. How does it keep racking up good reviews? I’m genuinely baffled.

Food was not fresh. The fried green tomatoes in the crab salad tasted like they used old oil. The Brussel sprouts in the fried oyster and Brussels was good bu the oysters were not fresh. Overpriced for what it was. Service and server were excellent though.

This is a neighborhood gem. F&T serves southern food, some heavy as you'd expect, and some light, but all of it is very good. We enjoy the restaurant most when it's a nice day and we can sit on the patio and order cocktails. Recommended!

Great place and awesome food! The prices were very reasonable considering the presentation and portion sizes. Everything was delicious, and the strawberries and cream were extraordinary.

Good food, but not great service. When I told our server that my sparkling wine
wasn’t cold, she said she really didn’t know what she could do about it!

Great southern food! Everything we had was delicious and service was fast. It’s a small place, but good vibes inside.

*I do recommend making a reservation on weekends. And be prepared—parking is kind of a nightmare.

The redfish was so flavorful and flaky...with a rich buttery, salty finish and an okra topping. The space was charming and easy to visit with old friends. Service was spot on w/o becoming part of the evening. Ready to return!

I enjoyed this little gem with local friends. It made my inner Southern girl smile. From my mocktail to desert, the food was perfect and the service was friendly but not overbearing.

A must go to when I'm in H-town. The place is super cute and has a lot of history. The wait staff is always attentive and on their A-game. The food is good. I enjoyed the deviled eggs and aways get them.
