Always good
Food is quite good. Service is a bit odd. Restaurant could use a good cleaning but the food makes up for it.

Frankie.... Chow, Bello!! Such a sweet man!
Chef's kiss to this place and its AMAZING STAFF! A True hidden gem of the NASA area... Frankie (owner) and his brother are originally from Italy. They brought along with them to America, their homemade Italian recipes, and opened Frenchie's Restaurant, as well as it's sister site down the road, Villa Capri (upscale waterfront dining)! Very traditional, these 2 great eats do not participate in any online marketing, delivery services, or social media to boost their sales. The brothers have done such an amazing job at preserving the orginal Frenchies while catering to the masses. Trust... It's really that good! If you want it, you have to apply the effort of going to get it, and you won't be disappointed you did! The food melts in your mouth... everything is homemade and baked fresh daily. The sauces are rich with robust flavors, the pasta... always al-dente! Highly recommend the lasagna for your first visit, so good that every year I order a whole tray for my family and work holiday parties!

Best Italian for miles around - a NASA icon! Owners always there and haven't retired yet - not a chain. Can get busy so get there early or go off peak. Great atmosphere!
Great place that locals love. All that local love should say it all!

Recently dined at Frenchie's and was not disappointed. This restaurant has been a staple and favorite lunch spor in the Clearlake community for years. The food is cooked to order and always delicious. My favorite dishes are the chicken caesar, chicken parmesan, and fettuccine alfredo. On Tuesdays, the special is chicken parmesan with fettuccine on the side. You have to arrive hungry because the portion sizes are quite big and most entrees come with a complimentary dinner salad and bread. By the end of the meal, you will be happy but quite stuffed. This place can get packed during lunch time so plan accordingly. I highly recommend a visit to Frenchie's, if you enjoy authentic Italian food.

10 out of 10!!! Frenchies is the kind of place that wins you over before the first bite, and the moment we heard Francesco speaking real Italian at the counter, we knew we were in the right place. It’s a true family‑owned restaurant, and that warmth shows in everything they serve. We ordered Cheese Ravioli and Chicken Parmesan, and they started us off with complimentary bread and salad, simple and fresh. The ravioli might honestly be the best we’ve ever had! the tomato sauce is so velvety and flavorful I could drink it, almost like a rich tomato bisque, and the ricotta filling is incredibly creamy while the pasta stays perfectly al dente. The Chicken Parmesan was just as impressive: a tender, breaded chicken breast smothered in a different style of tomato sauce, equally delicious, paired with linguini in a light white sauce that’s simple but surprisingly addictive. And then there’s the atmosphere; Frenchies feels like a NASA time capsule, with astronaut photos and mission memorabilia covering the walls. They aren’t just decorations; they’re gifts from real astronauts who have been eating here for decades. Local reporting says Francesco moved from Capri to Houston in 1979 and opened Frenchies near Johnson Space Center, where it quickly became a favorite among NASA engineers and astronauts. Some even joked they missed Frenchies’ food while in space, including Apollo astronaut Alan Bean, who left Francesco a signed moon photo saying the food in space “wasn’t as good as Frenchies.” It’s rare to find a place with this much heart, history, and genuinely spectacular food, and we’re already planning our next visit.
