We enjoyed an early dinner at George's Bistro. Our server, Shanki took excellent care of us - and we enjoyed some fun banter with him! Food was excellent, both the crispy chicken and the Sicilian pasta dish, accompanied by a wonderful wine (Emmolo).
We were seated at a bad table (that happens) and got a great waiter. Minutes later he was pulled from (specifically) our table. Someone wandered up and told us we would get bread, we did not. Basically we ordered but were told after some time (a notable amount of time) what we wanted was not available. I watched table after table come in after us, be seated, waited on and leave. Charming decor but the food I finally got was not worth it.
SERVICE AND THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD INGREDIENTS WHERE OUTSTANDING. The server (Shany - Albenian) and the Mettre (Ricardo) made us feel we were at home in a fine dinning place.
We had Bruschettas - Suppli - Carbonara Verde - Sicilian Stuffed Eggplant (splitted for two) and a side of asparagus, all accompanied with a Large Tinazzi Ripasso and a shared Crema Catalana (creme brulee).
We went to see if it was a suitable place for a retirement party. It IS!!!

This place is truly a hidden gem. There’s a great selection of food on both the regular and lunch menus, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. I can’t wait to come back for happy hour and try more of their dishes. Highly recommend!

Did brunch around noon on a Saturday after Xmas. It was surprisingly quiet, but nonetheless the staff was very inviting. Food ordered was the beet salad, crab cake, and a grilled chicken croissant sandwich. The crab cake had no filler, all crab, juicy, but needed seasoning. The salad and sandwich were the stars- simple but amazing! Cocktails on the sweeter side, but delicious!
I had a great time! The food was delicious, absolutely unforgettable! The atmosphere was a perfect balance of cozy and elegant. Exceptional service!

This was my fifth visit to George's but certainly my most disappointing. It was NOT that busy, but the service was sorely inept. The server failed to show us the special menu (written on a chalk board) until asked to do so. He said, "Bread will be right out," but he never brought bread at all. We had an appetizer to share, but he had to be prompted to bring another small plate. A used Coke can sat on the table almost all night. OK, you could ask....but the food made up for these minor inconveniences, right? No. Not this visit. The prime rib special was nearly INEDIBLE, it was SO tough. I had a hard time cutting it, even with a steak knife. The veal marsala was perfect texture, perfect mushroom gravy, nice helping of mashed potatoes, BUT.....so bland that I would have added salt and pepper (had there been shakers on the table). The crispy chicken was good; no problems. So one of three entrees was acceptable. Then we shared a strawberry shortcake, but the server should have warned us that it really wasn't "shareable" unless all the guests dipped their spoons into the same glassware; it wasn't traditional shortcake you could cut into shareable pieces. It also had more whipped cream than strawberries. All in all a disappointing meal for Christmas Eve. All prior visits have been lovely with good service and delicious meals. This one? Not so much so. It will be a while before I even think about returning. What a shame.
This is actually my third or fourth time and everything is always been great. The biggest problem is that I ordered wrong for my dinner. I did not like it, which was unusual for me because everything I've ever eaten. There is really good. The service was less than stellar and it usually is stellar, but I think they were missing some waiters and they're real busy cause it is Christmas. Honestly, it's still one of my very favorite places to eat and I'll go back there over and over again. I think they were just having an off night.
The food was not great for the amount of money spent for our meals. I've eaten at some of the best restaurants in Houston and this is not one of them. The service was average and the food was subpar. Our bill was 100+ with tip included and we felt like we were cheated on food quality. We waited a while for our food to be served and when it arrived it was a little above warm but definitely not hot. We think this restaurant is overpriced and overhyped.

Three went to brunch. I had never been there. First they brought a coffee that was cold. I arrived last and never offered a drink. Water was on the table. One friend ordered salmon and wasn't completely satisfied. The other ordered soup and salad. The salad didn't have enough dressing. I ordered the breakfast pizza. It was good. Nothing was so great that I'll return.

The service was warm and we were not rushed to ordering. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. The manager was very attentive and kind.
I will give a strong 4 stars. This is a great date spot. I had the George Burger with truffle fries. I definitely have to come back with my wife to try the lobster Mac and Cheese including the street corn dish. So, until then! Bon appetite!!!

The veal Marsala and beet salad were delicious. Erica was an excellent server. The restaurant is so welcoming, and our window table was delightful.
