It's as close to an original barrio meat market from the early Northside of Houston. The barbacoa and cheek are amazing; I'll go on a limb and say they're the best in Houston! The owner is a wonderful, kind woman that always welcomes every customer with a warm greeting. It's a must-try for your weekend lounging, foodies!
Located off of Patton street a little bit north of downtown Houston is Gerardo’s. S/o to the home @richotoole for tweeting this place out bc it sure caught my attention. Parking is a dirt lot with everyone taking the mamalona out after church so good luck lol.

The barbacoa and Carnitas at Gerardo's is good, moyejas meh... the real crime is the salsas (which cost $1 per little cup) as they don't have a lot of flavor. Also, the bottle sodas that cost 0.89 cents in the supermarket are $4.25. The tacos themselves are 0.75 cents above other taquerias around the area. I will not be going back, mostly because of the discrepancy of bottle soda prices.
