Grotto Downtown

The pepperoni pizza specifically us absolute heaven. The pasta is also good but that pizza... Mmmm MMMMM.

The music is a bit loud. I'm old but that's they way it is.

Conveniently located near the convention center and hotel we stayed at. My partner has celiac and they have GF pasta available. Food was great, good service, short wait for a table of 4.

When I travel for work, it’s often hard to find a place that can handle convention traffic and still maintain great service and fresh food. I visited this location twice and was impressed by the service and quality. Both nights our servers were top notch to our larger parties and we didn’t wait long for food. And it came out fresh and hot and everything was delicious! If you’re attending a conference at the convention center, this is a good spot to check out!

I came with a group at lunch. This restaurant is attached to a conference center so you would think they know how to handle groups. It took a long time for us to receive our food and my gnocchi and short rib dish was cold and the gnocchi was though. There was no time to request for a fix. I had to eat and leave. Also note that the restaurant is loud and not ideal for discussion among a group.

The presentation of the food at Grotto Downtown was beautiful, and it tasted just as good; fresh and full of flavor. The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. We went for lunch to celebrate one of our team members' 25th work anniversary, and we all had a wonderful time there.

Ambience was nice; food however - was underwhelming to say the least. Highly disappointed. Ceasar salad was bland, calamari was not breaded and mixed with all these vegetables..not calamari ; risotto tasted processed, eggplant Parmesan very mediocre.

The staff at the Grotto are always the best! The hostess was quick to put tables together for us when we realized we had 1 extra guest in our party and needed a bigger table than our reservation. Our server was friendly and very attentive! Everyone enjoyed their food at our table, from pizzas, pasta and appetizers. We love the Grotto and will always come back when visiting downtown Houston

My first time here and I had the chicken marsala. It was great. I had several questions about some of the other items on the menu and Alyssa had all the answers and she checked on me regularly to see if I needed anything. She is very polite and professional. She done an awesome job!!
I will return when I am back in Houston!
