Portion size, quality of food.

I got the oxtail plate with plantain. I love the portion size of the oxtail. The flavors were pretty simple, not over seasoned but not plain either. Plate cost $25 and the plantain were mushy, not my recommendation.

Very disappointed. My second time trying to try this place and there’s an hour wait for oxtails. Ridiculous. Also, the front cashier wasn’t very friendly. No hello, nothing. Even when I say hello, how you doing? It’s courtesy to respond instead of just staring at me. Only giving it 3 stars because it looks clean and spacious, and there’s people waiting. So the food must be good. But, like I said, waiting for an hour or more for oxtails is insane.

The Mac and cheese isn’t it…
I didn’t expect the cabbage to be the base for the oxtails to be on. I’m not a big gravy fan
So having the cabbage soaking in gravy lost my interest… hiding the cabbage flavor maybe…
A Mid experience overall

The Mac and cheese is basic Texas Mac that I don't like..with Velveeta or cheese sauce not baked goodness..but the Jamaican food is very good and flavorful..and the wife baked cupcakes for Valentine's Day soooo cute and tasty I love them..the rice n peas are good I can tell the pot liquor is flavored, good potatoes and my goat was super tender..I know when u have restaurants u have to cook the cabbage slightly under..it was to perfection I don't like soggy cabbage..the vegetable patty with kalaloo was amazinggg I can tell they make them there

I will be back very good

I'm convinced that this place is paying customers for good reviews or something because I ordered delivery curry goat to be exact and the goat was gamey tasting and the mac& cheese has a nasty taste rice & peas was ok but not best absolutely will not order from here again this is not real jamaican food once you've had real jamaican food you'd know. Sorry but not sorry. Please do better.

Extremely disappointed. Came here months ago and the gentleman behind the counter was amazing, very inviting and informative, you could feel his passion for the business. Today was the exact opposite- what’s worse than bad service is being treated as if you don’t matter. I’m not asking for the red carpet, but is it too much to ask for a “hello” “how was it “ or even “thank you “. I was the only one in the place and he made me get up and come to him when my food was ready. The jerk shrimp wasn’t anything special but honestly I could deal with that. And to add insult to injury- since you pay first I even tipped GOOD! This was my last time here ,I deserve at least to be respected and I’m definitely not recommending this place to anyone! My family and I ordered the Jerk Chicken, white rice, and mac and cheese. The chicken was sooo good. It tasted homemade. It's just delicious. We also ordered a side of the curry chicken sauce for the rice and to dip our chicken in as well, and that didn't disappoint either. Will definitely return, and next time, I want to try the plantains. Thank you!!!

I have frequented this establishment several times now and they are consistently GREAT. The most authentic Jamaican food I’ve had in Houston that reminds me of my visit to the country. Family owned and always friendly service. They never miss!

In these pictures I ordered goat curry with rice and peas and cabbage, oxtails with rice and peas and cabbage, chicken patty, beef patty, plantains, and coco bread. All absolutely delicious and generous portions. Both meats were tender and the gravy is outstanding, not greasy and very well seasoned. Great price on the oxtails.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! I know people drive from all over to go to more well-known Jamaican places on the south side that tend to be hit or miss, but please check this one out! We are so lucky to have such great Jamaican food right here in the Cypress area!
