Hando is a fantastic little spot to get high quality, interesting sushi. On my most recent lunch visit I had the trout, daikon, and vegetable hand rolls. All were delicious! The miso eggplant is really unique and beats eggplant dishes at the likes of Uchi and Kara. Definitely worth trying.

Sushi is just adequate. All bar seating which I don't love. No chair backs which I hate. Stools aren't comfortable.

Mediocre at best. I had their 3 PCS handokase. The spicy tuna was fine, salmon was better, and blue crab was gross. I didn’t finish it. The beef skewer was okay but meat quality was poor; mushrooms were my favorite part.
I don’t understand the hype and would not return.
I probably should have realized from the name that this place specializes in hand rolls, but after checking reviews and photos that showed traditional sushi, I expected a bit more variety. To our surprise, they only offer cut sushi for takeout—everything else is hand rolls served at the bar.
We were seated right away (though we arrived around 5:30 PM), and the atmosphere was sleek and modern. Just be aware that it’s a bar-only setup—there are no traditional tables.
Service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and fast. We ordered two appetizers and two drinks. One of the drinks even came in a super cute fish-shaped glass, which was a fun touch.
Overall, a great spot if you’re specifically looking for hand rolls and a more casual, bar-style experience.

You should already be there. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was welcoming from the stay and intimate with your guests. I love the bar style set up. It was a joy seeing all the action. The hand rolls were amazing, sushi delicious, and appetizers were so good. Chef’s special was Chilean Sea Bass hand wraps and scallops, I had a few orders. The drinks were perfect.
Hando’s staff are kind, courteous with a sense of urgency and a joy from entry to exit. I can’t wait to visit again.

Love this place, so glad they opened a Spring Branch location. A lot of small plates and rolls which makes it easy to try many items on the menu. Food and service have always been excellent and prices are very fair

My favorite hand roll was the Hamachi Poke - it was savory with the right amount of spice, and fried shallots added a nice crunch. I would also recommend the Toro hand roll, Mushroom hand roll, and the Miso Sake Mussels.
The Umeboshi Margarita was very refreshing.

You can see the effort and care that went into making this soft shell crab hand roll.

One of my favorite sushi spots hands down. Their specials never miss either. I work at another spot just a couple business down and when i’m there early I also get their takeout I always get the 3 cut roll set. The salmon, spicy tuna, and blue crab are definitely my favorites and the matchstick salad. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. They also have a speakeasy in the back which has great drinks.

You can taste and feel the humidity in the nori… for a style that they’re suppose to specialize in it’s pretty disappointing and underwhelming. Since the nori is your vessel with a whole lot of surface area in each bite… the texture is kind of important.
Imagine a sandwhich made with basic american white bread flattened out with a rolling pin… it looses all the “positive” qualities that make american bread “good” (light and airy).
Mussels were over cooked, nothing stood out in the 5pc and leaving the wasabi and gari pre-plated is kind of 🤮 even if the gari looks cute rolled up and the wasabi was piped.. the gari was dry… how long had it been since that seat had been flipped?

Had a great evening at Hando! I loved that most everything was hand rolls so we had the opportunity to try a lot of the menu! All hand rolls were great and we had a hard time picking our favorite. Cocktails were delicious! Definitely recommend for a date night or a fun night out!
