Our last visit to Havana Houston was great. We invited friends from Clear Lake, Texas to make the drive and enjoy the evening and again, we looked like heroes. The service was great, the food was great and the violin was icing on the cake. A great evening at one of our favorite places to eat. We plan on taking other friends here later this month.
Havana in Houston never disappoints... my wife and I enjoy the great tasting food, the friendly service and the ambiance is truly 5 star. I would highly recommend them for your fine dining experience.
They didn't have the staff to support the business the night I was there. The server had too many tables, and we waited a long time for service and food. We waited 20 minutes for table drinks, and the bartender did not have any help. The menu was not cuban, and the food was overall bland. I won't return.
Excellent experience! Food is outstanding and the violinist player made our experience the perfect romantic evening. All the waiters were very attentive and making reservations helps you save a spot when they are really busy. My husband and I are definitely adding this to our list of favorite restaurants.
we went to celebrate Valentine's Day and the promotion was spectacular! Food was delish and such a big portion, we even had to take some of it to go. Restaurant is pretty, the romantic scenery was beautiful and even had roses for the ladies. live soft but not boring music was a plus. valet parking was awesome. the only thing is our waitress was slow and she did not seem to check on us much.
Everything was lovely until we were given someone else's food to bring home. We had eaten MAYBE 1/3 of our meals. Being pregnant, I was really looking forward to having at least a few more bites later in the evening. The manager is giving us a meager offering (not even enough to cover ONE plate) for this egregious error. Very disappointed.
Dinner was fabulous! Had the lobster bisque and Chilean sea bass. Both were delicious and paired perfectly with our Duckhorn Sauvignon blanc. It was a great night out with friends to celebrate the birth of our twins!
This place has been one of our favorites since it opened but not tonight. The service was slow and spotty probably due to a large group that seemed to suck up all the servers for long periods. Our food was served after one big group and some plates were lukewarm. The big negative for us was the noise level. We looked forward to the usual violin players' background music because we can have conversations. They had a band that played very good latin music but it was too loud. Very hard to hear what was said across the table. We will be back but we will inquire about the planned entertainment.
It's a family run business, with excellent service and food. The ambiance is also very nice, beautifully decorated. I was celebrating my birthday with friends and had a great time, with live music! Lazaro, our waiter was great! I would definitely recommend this restaurant
Overall the experience was a little disappointing. Mainly because it's a very American version of Cuban food. There's only a few plates on the menu that resemble true Cuban food. The lomo was dry and bland and I felt like it was expensive for what it was. My boyfriend and I ordered one appetizer, three drinks, the lomo and ropa vieja and a desert and it was $130 plus tip. That doesn't seem like a $$ price range. Needless to say we won't be going back.

We have been here several times and always love coming back. The Paella is excellent. If your looking for light and tasty their appetizers with a good bottle of wine will do it. Great place for Houston's Energy Corridor.
Havana Houston has the best paella you will find in Houston. The portion size for the price is outstanding since there is so much high quality seafood in the dish. You can choose servings for two or four. We brought home leftovers each time. We have tried both of the appetizer platters and enjoyed everything on each. A great variety of Cuban appetizers to start the meal right. Good mojitos and extensive wine list. Both times I was there, there was a violinist playing softly in the background and didn't intrude on conversation. We were too full to try desserts but I do hope to make it through the desserts in future. The ambiance if the restaurant is very nice.
I wanted to find a good restaurant without having to drive into the city and was shocked at what a great find this place was. The free valet parking is great because the parking lot isn't huge, too. We shared 5 different small plates/appetizers and each and every one was great and a unique take on what you would expect. The food isn't cheap but definitely worth every penny. Also, the live violin music was the perfect volume so that it was enjoyable but we could still have conversation. We will be returning!
This was our first time to dine there, and we will definitely return. Everything was wonderful. The live music was very good and was at the perfect volume to enable us to talk and hear the music at the same time.
Wonderful overall experience. Excellent food, exceptional service. I was cold and they brought me a warm soft shawl. My husband loves to order off menu and they accommodated his request without question or even a double check with the kitchen. We were greeted by the manager, who stopped by everyone's table multiple times. Small, romantic, quiet ambiance but really good for any occasion. There were a couple of little kids there. And a couple of tables celebrating birthdays. My husband's father is from Cuba and mother from the Dominican and we were highly impressed by the food.
