Fantastic experience at Hearsay Gastro Lounge. I was visiting Houston for a conference and met some old friends in Houston for dinner to catch up. This was the perfect spot for it. Amazing food, great drinks, service was excellent, and the environment was just right. Thanks for an amazing time. I will definitely be back!

The building is beautiful and the atmosphere is nice. Sat down and ordered a wine and a starter. When the starter came I ordered my main course. A few minutes later they brought me my main while I was only a few bites into my starter. I sent it back, twenty minutes later they delivered me the same food that had been kept under a hot plate. It was dried out, the cream was stodgy and in places it was burnt.
It's a shame, the building and set up is beautiful but the food let this place down

I’m honestly shocked by how bad my second visit to Hearsay was. After a great first experience, I thought it’d be a no-brainer to return, but this time was an absolute disaster. The restaurant was half-empty on a Saturday night, yet the host and manager acted like they didn’t want us there because we didn’t have a reservation. They sat us down and then completely ignored us.
It took *15 minutes* just for our server to ask for drinks (which, I’ll admit, were good). Then, ANOTHER 15 minutes before he bothered to ask if we were ready to order food. By the time we did place our order, a large family of 10 came in, and they were treated like VIPs. They were seated after us, but their orders were taken immediately, drinks came right away, and both managers checked on them. Meanwhile, my date and I were completely neglected. Not once did anyone check on us, and I couldn’t help but feel like we were being brushed aside because we didn’t have a reservation.
Once our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and just okay. I had the salmon with sweet mashed potatoes and dill sauce, and my date had the red snapper tacos. Nothing to write home about, especially considering the wait and poor service. Meanwhile, the family next to us continued to be treated like royalty, and when it came time to pay the bill, they were in and out while we were left sitting there, ignored once again.
Honestly, the service was appalling. I’ve never felt so disrespected at a restaurant, and I won’t be coming back. If you’re going to treat people differently just because they don’t have a reservation, maybe it’s time to rethink your approach to customer service. Hearsay, you’ve really let me down. Do better.
Went to this place in a very special date and I was blatantly disrespected to my face. When seated it took almost 30 minutes to be served. After finally being served the food took even longer to come out but usually im very patient so I did not believe so ty was an issue. However when the family of 4 came in to the table next me to they were immediately served and got all of their food and drinks before my Party of 2. I ordered tacos …….. it took 40 minutes for my tacos while the table next to use for their tacos and pasta and steaks 15 before I received my food even though G I arrived and ordered before they even got there. Also the server did not come to check on our table but he went to check on the table right next to us and then would look at us and walk away. The manager checked on every table in the building EXCEPT ours. The food was okay and definitely not worth the terrible service. I can’t help but notice while our experience was horrible other people seemed to be actually being served and enjoying their time. Also my boyfriend and I were the ONLY black people in the restaurant and im positive this is the reason for the disrespect. It’s 2025 and the way the way we were treated is completely unacceptable. 0/10 I’ll never be returning and I’ll make sure my extremely large following on social media knows to never go there too. I was treated that way because I was a black woman trying to dine out in Houston TX in 2025 yall, get it together.
