They food is amazing. Came here today looking for authentic Jamaican food and they didn't let me down . I ordered the brown stew chicken with rice and peas with plantains jerk chicken and a beef patty when I say the food was flavorful cooked with love and the chicken fell off the bone. 20/10 this is the best place ever. Come visit if you're in Houston Texas I'm all the way from California and we found this place on Google. Big shot out to Helens kitchen.

Overall not bad experience, but the food was decent nothing made me gave me the wow factor. But decent food and good portion of food. I got the oxtail with Curry Mash Potatoes and Plantains, I expected more flavor from the sides but it was kind of bland in opinion as there was little bit of the flavor in the sides but the Oxtail was tender and cooked really well. Overall, not bad, but it’s Jamaican good it will always taste good as it is packed with flavor no matter what!!
The goat was excellent! Also tried some chicken in brown sauce, not sure what it was called, but it was excellent too. Cabbage and the rice is the best, the meat pies are the bomb 💣 too!!

Overall, this place is decent. There was nothing special about it to me. The oxtails were very tender but I did not particularly care for the rice and peas. It was dry to me and the rice could have been coked a little longer in my opinion. The plantains were really good but they only gave 3. I couldn’t help but feel like my plate was not worth the money. I prefer Cool Runnings honestly.

Escovic fish is the best I ever tasted since I left Jamaica. I tried all restaurants in Houston and none can come near to this one. My friend bought oxtail a few weeks ago and she said it's the best she has ever tasted. Keep up the high standard Helen.
