Not anything what I was expecting from reading the reviews but not a disappointment at all. I was expecting the typical packed “run of the mill” Texas BBQ places but instead is is just lake it looks a general store and is bit better. The Bbq was awesome and the vibe was laid back counter order and then just hang at your table until it comes. You will not be disappointed.

The best bbq in Houston! The first time I came here, the meat was so perfectly cooked, flavored, and juicy that I skipped out on bbq sauce entirely and didn’t even miss it. The sides are always as excellent as the bbq, you can’t go wrong with any of them. The store has a great array of local goods and the service is excellent, it’s very evident that the owners and managers care so much about their customers and quality. Shop small and have some amazing bbq, you definitely won’t regret it!

My step-daughter recommended Henderson & Kane to me. As she graduated from UT and spent additiona years in Austin afterwards, she and her husband, friends, and assorted flock can be BBQ snobs. With her recommendation, I set off from my Galleria location to find H&K. I got there early on a Thursday late morning and was fortunate to find that all of the meats were still available. i ordered a 2 meat combo; chopped brisket and jalapeno sausage with 2 sides; cole slaw and creamed corn. Everything was fantastic. To be honest, I could have been very happy with just 1 side as the meat portions were very generous. The BBQ sause mixed in with the chopped brisket was just right - not too spicy, not too sweet. I am usually not a sausage guy, but the young man at the counter recommended it and he was right on target. After finishing all of the meats and most of the sides, I surrendered...but just momentarily as I reapproached the counter to tell the guy how much I loved the BBQ. The deli case to my left caught my eye and I had to buy a banana pudding cup to celebrate the lunch. It was delicious - maybe the best I have ever had in a restaurant. I highly recommend Henderson & Kane, and I will be a repeat customer.

Honestly, if you just moved to Texas from somewhere where barbecue isn’t a thing (which I’m guessing is most people that leave reviews here) I could see how it’s good. The brisket was dry and poorly seasoned, the ribs were ok, the green beans were canned, potato and Mac and cheese were the only decent things.
