Had a great time experience eating at this family owned restaurant. The BBQ was an excellent, sides were good, and the family atmosphere made it worth the visit. They were out of potatoes which was disappointing, but they went above and beyond to make it up and we did show up towards closing so I can understand being out. I highly recommend you try this place and support a locally owned family restaurant. Great service! We will be back for sure!

H&K is the real deal for Q in HTX! From the comfy corner store neighborhood vibe to the excellent service to the moist and smokey meats to the local sourced products, it’s really a destination meal. Even though we arrived near closing time the meats we enjoyed were moist and juicy (the brisket came in off the pit), not end-of-day leftovers. The sides were very flavorful with great seasoning and large portions. Counter and service staff were pleasant and informative (family members?). And the basket full of local products we picked up were unique and reasonable. Don’t rush your visit to H&K…take a trip back to the slower days and enjoy the vibe then do some shopping while you pat your belly.

Wheelchair accessibility: Bathrooms prolly too small for wheelchair in the old building but rest of facilities accessible.

Some of the best BBQ I’ve had in Houston. Meat is incredibly tender, flavorful, and juicy. Sides are delicious. Their full-service coffee bar is even great! Very cool vibe with the market inside and great seating outside. Perfect for a nice day!

EXCELLENT!!!!!.....Friendly counter service and delicious barbecue. The Brisket was the best I have had, incredible bark, juicy and tender. The ribs were not on the same level as the brisket, they were good but not great and definitely needed to be served hotter. The creamed corn and the coleslaw were both 10s and the free pickles, jalapenos and onions were a welcomed touch to cut through the richness of the meal. Highly recommend, can't wait to go back, woke up thinking about about the brisket this morning!!
