I’ve been coming to Himalaya for years now and the food is always delicious. The owner, Kaiser, is always friendly to me and my friends, suggesting the best dishes. I only wish there was light music playing to add to the atmosphere. But beyond that, this is my go-to for comfort food in Houston.

Outstanding food! This is a very small restaurant with very big flavors. They will make you want to over eat just like your grandmother would! On a Saturday night they were properly busy. It’s BYoB, so bring a Pinot noir or a rioja, or maybe a grenache and you’ll be ready for anything. We had a biryani, curry, and a meat plate, all was excellent.

All the bad reviews about the service are hilarious. Look, is the owner a little eccentric? Sure, but the random rules about gratuity and order minimums have been a standard here for years. The biryani is the best in Texas and special shout out to the steak tika, Himalayan fried chicken and the hara masala (chicken or paneer).
